The remaining nine teams found themselves at the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud, awaiting its 8 a.m. opening, which nullified any potential time advantages they might have had. Upon opening, host Phil Keoghan facilitated a live vote, allowing teams to choose which competitors would face the Double U-Turn. Ultimately, Lori and Scott, along with Ana and Jonathan Towns, received the majority of votes and were tasked with completing both Detour options.
The Detour presented two unique challenges: delivering 60 coconuts to a café via bicycle or constructing a coral cage with five specific marine species and planting it in the ocean. Most teams opted for the coconut delivery, with Ana and Jonathan commencing with the coral construction. Likewise, Lori and Scott chose the coconut task, but errors in coral placement hindered both U-Turned teams.
At the Roadblock situated on the shores of Nusa Dua Beach, one team member was required to match their surfboard decal with a surfer in the ocean. Carson McCalley and Jack Dodge showcased their skills by arriving first, closely followed by Brett and Mark, who swiftly completed the challenge and won the leg, earning a reward of $10,000.
The remaining teams checked into the Pit Stop in the following order: Alyssa and Josiah Borden took third place, with Jeff “Pops” Bailey and Jeff Bailey finishing fourth, and Han and Holden Nguyen arriving in fifth. Although Lori and Scott reached the Roadblock shortly after Ana and Jonathan, both pairs ultimately finished the challenge. Regrettably, they were the last to arrive at the Pit Stop.
