The highly anticipated sixth season of the Tournament of Champions aired its sixth episode, titled The Randomizer Strikes Back, on April 6, 2025, on Food Network. This exciting episode featured the thrilling conclusion of the second round, determining the final four chefs who advanced to the coveted “Great 8.”
In a head-to-head format, eight skilled chefs were matched against one another, each competing to impress the discerning judges Simon Majumdar and Guy Fieri. By the end of the episode, Rocco DiSpirito, David Viana, Carlos Anthony, and Adam Sobel found themselves eliminated from the competition.
Elimination Outcomes from Episode 6
Adam Sobel vs. Kevin Lee
The episode opened with a tense showdown between Adam Sobel and Kevin Lee. The Randomizer presented a challenge featuring pork porterhouse chops, delicata squash, a birthday-themed context for Guy, and the unusual element of a tortilla press. Despite Adam’s tactical attempt to leverage the Wildcard for a re-spin, he still received the tortilla press challenge.
Both chefs crafted their dishes while incorporating adjectives that represented Guy’s birthday celebration. Chef Kevin wowed the judges with his creative take on nachos, incorporating Korean-inspired chorizo. In contrast, Chef Adam prepared a classic pork porterhouse accompanied by delicata squash presented in three different styles. However, the judges deemed Adam’s dish somewhat disjointed, ultimately favoring Kevin’s innovative nachos.
Carlos Anthony vs. Nini Nguyen
The next match featured Carlos Anthony competing against Nini Nguyen. Tasked with creating dishes from beef tenderloin, shishito peppers, an immersion blender, and a theme of “updated classic,”both chefs rose to the occasion.
Nini brought forth a stunning steak au poivre that impressed the judges with its fresh interpretation. Meanwhile, Carlos served a steak tartare, which garnered praise for its inventive use of aji amarillo sauce but drew criticism for a possibly overcooked sear. Ultimately, Nini claimed victory by a narrow margin of just one point.
David Viana vs. Sara Bradley
In a captivating showdown, David Viana faced off against Sara Bradley, with the Randomizer calling for a rack of lamb, dandelion greens, the use of a meat grinder, and a romantic “date night dinner”theme. Sara excelled with a rack of lamb topped with a whipped Meyer lemon and pistachio crust, which a judge affectionately described as the “take me to the altar”dish.
On the other hand, David crafted a lamb dish that featured dual sauces but suffered from slightly overcooked meat. The judges awarded the win to Sara, recognizing her flawless execution.
Rocco Dispirito vs. Antonia Lofaso
In the final battle of the evening, Rocco Dispirito took on Antonia Lofaso, with audience feedback leading to a complete re-spin of the ingredients. They were tasked to work with sturgeon, Tuscan kale, the mortar and pestle, and the gastropub theme.
Antonia opted for a creatively updated version of fish and chips, garnering praise for the well-cooked fish and the inclusion of mushy peas complemented with kale. Rocco, however, prepared bacon-wrapped sturgeon paired with braised kale, which, while good, fell short against Antonia’s dish, sending him home.
