EA Sports has officially unveiled the patch notes for the highly anticipated EA FC 25 Legends Return Update, marking it as the tenth Title Update since the game’s launch. This update not only brings significant gameplay modifications but also heralds the return of football icon Franz Beckenbauer alongside beloved Ultimate Team players such as Gervinho, Ibarbo, and Doumbia.

Franz Beckenbauer, renowned as one of the greatest defenders in football history, is making a celebrated return in the Ultimate Team mode of EA FC 25. He will rejoin the ranks with the dynamic trio from AS Roma: Gervinho, Ibarbo, and Doumbia, who once ruled the virtual fields in FIFA 14 and FIFA 15.

Exploring the EA FC 25 Legends Return Update Patch Notes

While the highlight certainly lies in the comeback of these legendary players, the EA FC 25 Legends Return Update also implements substantial tweaks to gameplay mechanics, visual elements, and roster adjustments. Notably, a new PlayStyle called the Low Driven Shot is introduced, alongside Super Sub players who will now earn chemistry boosts even while seated on the bench.

Key Roster Updates

Among the exciting roster changes, Franz Beckenbauer is set to make his iconic return with a spectacular base Icon version, mirroring the earlier addition of Diego Maradona. Furthermore, he will be featured in the forthcoming FUT Immortals event alongside Heroes such as Victor Ibarbo, Seydou Doumbia, and Gervinho, who will also participate in the FUT Birthday promo.

In an additional update, the Classic XI squad—featuring legends like Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona, Pele, and of course, Beckenbauer—will be returning to our screens. Additionally, the Canadian Women’s National Team is set to make its debut in this patch.

Enhancements to Gameplay Mechanics

The EA FC 25 Legends Return Update introduces a pivotal gameplay enhancement with the new Low Driven Shot PlayStyle, designed to elevate both accuracy and shot speed. Furthermore, adjustments will be made to the Precision Lob Pass, reducing its accuracy when fully powered, while improving the precision of clearance headers.

Developers have also rectified various gameplay issues, including:

  • Inability of AI defenders to effectively press the ball carrier in specific scenarios.
  • Occasional incorrect animations from goalkeepers when attempting to save shots from tight angles near the goalpost.

Changes in Ultimate Team Mode

Ultimate Team remains the centerpiece of the EA Sports FC series, and this update promises thrilling modifications. A notable addition is the Super Sub feature, allowing players to receive a full chemistry boost when substituted during the second half of a match, provided they occupy their designated roles.

Moreover, a new Live Ultimate Team Friendly Mode titled ‘Targets’ will be introduced, presenting players with targets at each corner of the goal. Successfully hitting these targets will allow gamers to double their goal counts during matches.

Additional Updates Across Game Modes

The EA FC 25 Legends Return Update also introduces several improvements across various game modes, including Clubs and Career Mode. Clubs will feature new drills incorporating the Low Driven Shot PlayStyle, along with an increased level cap and double XP events. On the other hand, Career Mode will see UI enhancements along with updates to the Player Career Icon roster.

Furthermore, players can anticipate a plethora of visual enhancements, including new star-head models, fresh celebrations, updated set piece animations, and a nostalgic vintage theme for the Main Menu.
