Duration of Russell and Taylor Armstrong’s Marriage: RHOBH Alum Reveals Details on Late Husband’s Alleged Abuse

Taylor Armstrong, known from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, recently opened up about her turbulent marriage in an upcoming episode of Investigation Discovery’s docuseries, Hollywood Demons, which airs on April 14.

As reported by BravoTV, Taylor married venture capitalist Russell Armstrong in 2005, but the couple’s relationship came to an end with their separation on July 1, 2011. Tragically, Russell passed away by suicide in August of the same year.

In her appearance on Hollywood Demons, Taylor recounted disturbing allegations of abuse during her marriage. She revealed how a close couple observed the troubling dynamics of her relationship and offered their support, expressing their concern for her well-being.

“Russell, he left, and this couple, they were very close to me and were very aware of what was going on. The man said, ‘We’ll help you get out of this because this is not okay, and we’re really worried for you,'”she shared.

Taylor described an alarming incident where Russell overheard their conversation. He confronted her and the couple, resulting in a violent altercation. She depicted the event vividly, highlighting how he threw her into the pool and displayed physical aggression.

“Well, Russell was hiding around the side of the house and heard everything. He came flying into the backyard. He threw me in the pool. He grabbed the man, knocked all of his teeth out, and he jumped in the pool and he was trying to hold me under the water. I thought he was going to drown me,”she recounted.

Further elaborating on her experiences, Taylor disclosed an unsettling episode involving Russell’s sons from a previous relationship. She recalled a day when she prepared pizza for them, only to face Russell’s wrath as he allegedly grabbed her by the throat.

“Once [Russell’s sons from a previous relationship] were visiting us and I made them a pizza. He came into the house, grabbed me by the throat and put me against the wall. He said, ‘If you ever serve my kids a pizza without a vegetable again, I’ll kill you,'”Taylor stated.

Additionally, Taylor recounted a particular argument during a trip to Las Vegas where Russell accused her of infidelity. This confrontation escalated and resulted in a physical attack, leaving her with an injury.

“[He] said something to the effect of, ‘I know you slept with the Chippendales when you were in Vegas.’ He continued to push and push, and he would not let up. He raised up, leaned over like this, and punched me. He fractured my orbital floor and so I went to see the doctor, and Russell went with me,”she explained.

Reflecting on the tragic suicide of Russell in 2011, Taylor expressed her shock, stating that she could never have anticipated such a conclusion, despite his struggles.

“There was a myriad of things that he was very concerned about, but I never thought that he would kill himself. Suicide never crossed my mind,”she remarked.

The couple shares a daughter, Kennedy Armstrong, born in 2006, adding another layer of complexity to this heartbreaking story. For those interested in Taylor’s full narrative, the docuseries Hollywood Demons is currently available for streaming on Max.
