A Nostalgic Shōnen Vibe
Centered around the journey of Yaiba Kurogane, the series follows the son of a legendary swordsman. Raised in solitude in a forest, Yaiba’s life takes a turn when his father sends him to live with the Mine family, where his father’s rival in kendo resides. With minimal understanding of the outside world and a burning aspiration to be a samurai—without realizing they no longer exist—Yaiba eagerly embraces his new surroundings, motivated by the opportunity to witness numerous sword techniques.
Fate intervenes when he follows Sayaka to her school’s kendo club, where he encounters Takeshi Onimaru, the dojo’s top student. Their sparring match results in Yaiba’s defeat; however, it ignites a fierce rivalry within him. Unbeknownst to either, their destinies are intertwined in a timeless conflict, culminating in Onimaru’s eventual transformation into the Demon King’s vessel due to a cursed sword. Right from the outset, the series introduces a spectrum of supernatural elements into the storyline, providing context for the epic battles that follow.
