As Diablo 3 continues its impressive journey, players are increasingly interested in class rankings based on current performance statistics. Although all classes possess robust capabilities, creating a tier list helps identify the most powerful options available. By analyzing data from Season 27 — which serves as a blueprint for the ongoing Season 34 — we’ve consolidated our insights to provide an up-to-date tier list that reflects the current gaming landscape.
It is essential to note that this tier list considers several factors, including base class power, the diversity of effective builds, and overall ease of play. However, this doesn’t imply that players should shy away from classes deemed “weaker.” Ultimately, selecting what resonates with you personally is paramount. For instance, I have a preference for the Necromancer class, and even if it ranked low, my enjoyment would remain unchanged.
The intricate nature of Diablo 3 presents a unique challenge: classes and builds have been thoroughly optimized over more than a decade, resulting in numerous viable options. Each class has its strengths, making them effective in specific scenarios, although recognizable metas still influence gameplay dynamics.
Diablo 3 Class Tier List: Which Classes Reign Supreme?
1) S-Tier
- Demon Hunter
- Necromancer

In the current Diablo 3 landscape, the S-Tier classes stand out as the most formidable. Despite my personal disinterest in playing the Demon Hunter, its dominant position is undeniable — it excels in damage output, mobility, and agility, effectively overpowering everything in its path. Interestingly, a look at the Challenge Rift leaderboard reveals that all top 1,000 entries are dominated by Demon Hunters, highlighting their efficiency.
My personal affinity lies with the Necromancer, a class that combines fun and power seamlessly. While the Crusader ranks highly for me, the Necromancer offers a range of potent builds that make it a fearsome choice. With the right setup, you can become an unstoppable force on the battlefield.
2) A-Tier
- Monk
- Crusader
- Wizard
- Barbarian

A-Tier classes are consistent performers capable of tackling nearly all the game’s challenges. While they may lack some of the top-tier dominance displayed by S-Tier classes, they remain exceptionally dependable. For instance, the Monk hovers delicately between S and A, showcasing versatility and effectiveness across various builds.
The Crusader, a personal favorite of mine, has a strong presence in the current meta. Wizard builds also fluctuate between the two tiers, primarily featuring Meteor or Frozen Orb options for optimized gameplay. Lastly, the Barbarian retains its charm with strong builds, especially in HOTA and Whirlwind. While it may not match the Demon Hunter or Necromancer in raw potential, it remains a rewarding choice in Diablo 3.
3) B-Tier
- Witch Doctor

The B-Tier encompasses classes in Diablo 3 that currently lack powerful builds capable of competing with the top-tier offerings. Often overshadowed, the Witch Doctor does not have the speed or efficiency needed for effective solo play. While a skilled Witch Doctor player might still shine under the right circumstances, their recent performances in Seasons 27 and 34 leave much to be desired.
