Release Expectations for Destiny 2’s Codename Frontiers

The expansion, currently known as Codename Frontiers, remains largely under wraps. As of now, it lacks a definitive title, pre-order options, or any gameplay footage despite its impending release. The official end date for the current season suggests a launch window around June 17, 2025. However, the silence from Bungie has led many community members to speculate about the possibility of delays.

Fortunately, players can breathe a sigh of relief. In a blog entry dated April 10, Bungie provided clarity regarding their plans for Frontiers. One earlier statement suggested a release “later in 2025,”which inadvertently sparked concerns of a delay. However, Bungie promptly addressed these worries via their official Destiny 2 account, stating:

Don’t read too deep into that. Still Summer. We’ll change the language in the article to avoid further anxiety.

The term “summer”can encompass a broader timeline, typically ranging from June to August. When inquired about a specific month for the release, Bungie refrained from giving precise details, indicating a decision on the exact timing has yet to be finalized with the term [REDACTED].

As the gaming community eagerly awaits more updates, speculation surrounds the content and features of this latest expansion, fueling interest among both new and veteran players.
