Days Gone Remastered Unveils Exciting New Game Mode

Overview of Days Gone Remastered

  • The upcoming Days Gone Remastered will feature the new Horde Assault mode, adding approximately 10 hours of gameplay alongside more than 20 new weapons.
  • This mode will include various game modifiers and rewards that enhance the overall gaming experience.

Days Gone Remastered is set to release on April 25, 2025, showcasing exciting new features including the Horde Assault mode, along with Permadeath and Speedrun modes. The introduction of these modes marks a significant expansion to the original game, enhancing its replayability and engagement.

Initially launched for PS4 in 2019, Days Gone garnered a mixed reception but gradually cultivated a dedicated fanbase. Despite ongoing requests from these enthusiasts for a sequel, Sony has remained silent on that front. However, fans were recently rewarded with the announcement of a PS5-exclusive remaster during the State of Play livestream in February 2025. Developed by Bend Studio, this remaster promises improved visuals and added in-game content, reigniting interest in the beloved zombie survival title.

Exploring the Horde Assault Mode

According to a recent update on the PlayStation Blog, the new Horde Assault mode significantly extends gameplay, offering an additional 10 hours. Players will engage with formidable hordes comprised of Reachers, Breakers, and Rager bears, competing to survive as long as possible and achieve top scores. The mode boasts more than 20 distinct weapons, including a powerful flamethrower, and introduces 24 gameplay modifiers known as Injectors. These Injectors include innovative challenges like “Exploding Freakers,”which causes Freakers to detonate upon defeat, and “Wanted,”which allows players to start at the high difficulty level immediately. Bend Studio has also released a thrilling trailer that showcases fan-favorite characters such as Deacon, Boozer, and Rikki Patil in exhilarating combat.

The Horde Assault mode initiates in the Cascade region of the Days Gone map, starting players off with just a sidearm. As players progress through the initial challenges, they will unlock access to the Drifter bike, enabling exploration of the area for Supply Boxes that grant random weapons. This mode also includes new Side Jobs, providing opportunities for accruing resources and extra experience points (XP). Additionally, players can follow a reward path with 35 levels, unlocking various Injectors, cosmetic patches, and new playable characters like O’Brian, Lisa, and Skizzo. Notably, Bend Studio has hinted at a highly sought-after reward, potentially linked to enhancements for the player’s bike.
