Daredevil: Born Again Star Discusses Heather Glenn’s Awareness of Matt Murdock’s Secret – “She Is A Highly Capable Doctor”

WARNING: This article contains major spoilers from Daredevil: Born Again season 1, episode 7.

As discussions heat up surrounding Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, actress Margarita Levieva has described intriguing possibilities regarding Heather Glenn’s awareness of Matt Murdock’s alter ego as the vigilante known as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. With the events unfolding in episode 7, Heather has encountered various formidable characters including Muse and Daredevil. This raises a compelling question: Will the series eventually reveal if Heather is aware of Matt’s double life?

Insights from Margarita Levieva on Heather’s Journey

As the inaugural season of Daredevil: Born Again approaches its conclusion, Levieva shared her thoughts during a recent interview with ScreenRant about Heather’s tumultuous experiences in episode 7 and the potential narrative paths moving forward. A key point of discussion was whether Heather might already have suspicions about Matt being Daredevil. Expressing her speculations, Levieva remarked:

Margarita Levieva: It’s a lot, and obviously, we’re in a world that is extreme and dealing with extreme circumstances, because in the real world, [laughs] the idea of finding out that the person that you’re basically living with and believe could be your partner for life, perhaps is Daredevil, is pretty out there, and then to also have a patient who’s a vigilante, it’s a lot for Heather. I wondered a lot through the season, ‘How much does she suspect?’

She is a highly capable doctor or psychiatrist, so it’s her job to sort of pick up on the clues, and her intuition has to be really sharpened. I wonder if there was a part of her that just didn’t want to know that. Sometimes in life where you’re like, ‘I know something is off, but I don’t want to know. I want to believe the fairy tale right now. I want to believe this life that I’ve chosen for now.’ So I’m curious to see what would happen if she finds out.

Implications of Levieva’s Comments on Heather’s Awareness

Levieva’s insights suggest that while Heather may not currently be aware of Matt’s identity as Daredevil, it’s plausible that she could soon connect the dots. If Heather is, in fact, already aware but chooses to wait for Matt to confide in her, it could lead to a tantalizing dynamic in the unfolding story. Given the dramatic turn at the end of episode 7, it’s possible Heather has begun to piece together Matt’s dual existence.

In a broader context, Levieva highlighted that the trauma Heather experienced in episode 7 will undoubtedly impact her character arc as the series progresses. This development may play a crucial role if and when she comes to learn of her boyfriend’s secret life as a superhero. Whether this revelation occurs within the ongoing season or in a potential second season remains uncertain, but the prospect looms large.

Our Take on Heather and Matt’s Dynamic

As fans await potential revelations about Heather’s knowledge of Daredevil’s true identity, one thing is clear: her awareness, if it happens, is bound to complicate their relationship significantly. Following her harrowing encounter with Muse in episode 7, it seems likely that Heather’s curiosity about Daredevil will intensify, particularly with just two episodes remaining in season 1.

Considering Heather’s expertise as a psychiatrist, her path may inevitably lead her closer to uncovering Matt Murdock’s hidden life. This added layer of complexity not only deepens character relationships but also heightens the stakes within the narrative of Daredevil: Born Again.
