Dan Saltman Claims Twitch Continued Subscriber Charges After Indefinite Ban Without Account Deletion

On April 8, 2025, prominent political content creator Dan Saltman took to X to express his frustration with Twitch, alleging that although his account received an indefinite ban for “extreme harassment” and violating community guidelines, it has not yet been deleted. Surprisingly, Dan claims that his account is still active and that the platform continues to charge his subscribers despite the ban.

In his posts, Dan criticized Twitch for their inaction regarding the deletion of his account. He highlighted a crucial point from the platform’s legal guidelines, indicating a requirement that accounts should be terminated within 90 days when a user initiates a deletion request.

“I have now heard multiple times that Twitch has told people ‘If you request to delete your account, we will ban you.’ Obviously I can’t verify this, but I can tell you that my ban happened within 15 minutes of pressing the first button in the account deletion process.”

Official Communication and Continued Operations

Sharing screenshots from his interactions with Twitch, Saltman asserted that the platform had consented to delete all non-essential information. However, he noted that his account remained operational. He elaborated on this issue:

“No! Of course it’s not deleted! TO THIS DAY, my emotes, profile photos, banners and so much more remain on Twitch’s servers. Also, THEY KEPT CHARGING MY SUBSCRIBERS! This is from an indefinitely banned account, deleted account, cancelled partnership. Twitch might like to try and say ‘People only subscribe to support the streamer’ but that’s not true. I had my VODs set as ‘subscriber only’ & I had the ‘highest effort’ (kappa) emotes.”

Saltman faced his ban from Twitch back in November 2024 and recently claimed that the platform unlawfully collected subscription fees from his viewers. He noted that the cancellation of subscriptions began on April 8, 2025.

The content creator suspects that Twitch may be engaging in illegal financial practices, potentially siphoning off tens of millions of dollars from banned streamers. He pointed to the case of Adin Ross, whose channel was banned for two years, as an example of this disturbing trend.

Additionally, Saltman did not hold back in his critique of Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, labeling him as “incompetent.”He expressed hope that the platform could face legal action for allegedly failing to adhere to data protection regulations. As of now, Twitch has yet to respond to these serious allegations.

In related news, fellow content creator Hasan “HasanAbi” faced accusations of manipulating his viewership with bots, which he vehemently denied, calling the claims unfounded.
