Crashlands 2 Guide: Acquiring Pets in the Game

In Crashlands 2, the expansive world is ripe for exploration, and players have the exciting option of bringing along companions on their adventure. Acquiring pets to assist in your journey is a straightforward process, enhancing your gameplay experience more than you might initially expect.

Having a pet not only adds to the enjoyment of the game, but they can also be invaluable during challenging battles. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll walk you through the steps required to find and nurture your first pet while offering additional tips to acquire more companions along the way.

Acquiring Your First Pet in Crashlands 2

You can easily secure your first pet early in the game. After interacting with the residents of Haarlipol, you will receive a quest titled Looks Like BS, guiding you to explore the Sluggabun Grotto, located to the west of the town. It’s advisable to bring Popcork Docks along for the journey, as they will facilitate smoother access to the Grotto and help uncover Juice Jems scattered across small islands surrounded by water.

As you reach Sluggabun Grotto, your exploration will lead you to uncover a Sluggabun egg situated further west. This discovery initiates the quest called A Good Egg.

The A Good Egg quest is relatively brief and straightforward. It will direct you to the Thunder Fields, located directly south of the Crash Pod. The quest’s objectives involve interacting with various NPCs, engaging in battles against foes, and then returning to speak with NPCs again.

During this quest, you’ll encounter Baani and Clood, two ranchers struggling with a pest infestation. Your task will involve eliminating the Ampybaras that are wreaking havoc on their ranch (don’t forget to inspect the barns). Upon successful completion, they will share valuable insights on how to properly care for the Sluggabun egg you have discovered.

As you progress, opportunities to find additional pets will arise through quest completions or by exploring the game world.

Raising Your Pets

How to raise Sluggabun pet in Crashlands 2

If you wish to successfully raise a pet in Crashlands 2, it’s essential to place the nest with the egg in suitable environments. Specifically, for the Sluggabun egg, you’ll need to create and position a nest within a room that fulfills the following criteria:

  • The room must be compact.
  • The room should be distanced from workstations.
  • The egg needs to be situated near a Poplamp.

For the Sluggabun egg, consider constructing a small room measuring 1×3, allowing enough space for both a Poplamp and a Woven Nest, while ensuring compliance with all conditions of being classified as a room (it must be enclosed with walls and a functioning door).

Once the egg is securely placed in appropriately configured surroundings, it will begin to incubate. With time, your new pet will hatch, ready to join you on your adventures.
