In this article, we will delve into the extensive ranked changes that come with Marvel Rivals Season 2. Keep reading to discover the key updates that could impact your gameplay.

Key Ranked Changes in Marvel Rivals Season 2

According to the latest patch notes for Marvel Rivals Season 2, the following significant adjustments will be made:

  • Rank Reset: Every player’s rank will experience a demotion of nine divisions based on their final Season 1.5 standings. For instance, a player who finished at Diamond I will start Season 2 at Silver I.

  • New Rank Rewards: Exciting new rewards await players! Those reaching Gold will receive a stunning new costume, Emma Frost – Golden Diamond, alongside fresh Crests of Honor for ranks such as Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and Top 500.

  • Minimum Competitive Level: The entry requirement for new players to engage in Competitive play has been set to level 15. Players who have completed at least one valid competitive match may still enter the Competitive mode in Season 2.0, even if they are below this level.

  • Modified Pick/Ban System: Starting from Gold III instead of the Diamond tier, players will now experience a structured pick/ban phase.

  • Queue Restrictions: Teams comprising players from Eternity or One Above All will only be permitted to participate in solo or duo queues.

  • Performance-Based Scoring: Currently, match scores hinge on both the match outcome and individual performance. Post-launch of Season 2.0, the influence of individual performance will increase. Players will earn more points for superior performance in victorious matches and will lose fewer points in defeats based on their contribution.

Ranked Map Rotation

In addition to the ranked changes in Season 2, a refreshed map rotation will be introduced to ensure varied gameplay across the ranked ladder:

  • The Hellfire Gala: Krakoa map will join the Competitive pool, while the Yggsgard: Royal Palace and Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya maps will be retired from ranked matches. Tournament maps will be synchronized with the competitive mode while Quick Match and Custom Games will still have access to all maps without rotation.
