In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Sakamoto Castle stands as a formidable stronghold, home to some of the most relentless Samurai Daishos—elite warriors tasked with safeguarding the castle’s prestigious treasures. Taking down these proficient foes is essential for unlocking the coveted Legendary Chest, which is brimming with exclusive rewards. Nestled in the serene Omi region near Lake Biwa, while not the richest fortress, Sakamoto Castle undeniably offers an array of rare loot and essential resources that players should strive to collect.
Finding the Samurai Daishos in Sakamoto Castle
As you embark on your mission to locate the Daishos, keep an eye out for distinct white dots on your HUD that indicate important locations, loot, and enemy positions. The Daishos are marked by a unique Samurai helmet icon, setting them apart from other guards. These elite samurai exhibit greater strength and resilience compared to typical foes, making stealthy takedowns your most effective strategy for quick assassinations in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

1) Location of Samurai Daisho 1 – Armory (Western Section)
Your first target, Samurai Daisho 1, can be found within the Armory, a dedicated equipment storage area. Positioned in the western section of the fortress, he is near a training zone close to a cart. A well-placed explosive can eliminate him instantly, or you can use Shinobi Bells
to divert his attention for a silent approach.
2) Location of Samurai Daisho 2 – West of the Main Building
Once you’ve dealt with the first Daisho, proceed eastward from the Armory to access the interior of the castle. Be wary of a couple of guards in this area; dispatching them silently will keep the second Daisho unaware of your presence. He can be found outdoors, in the western vicinity of the main building, engaged in training with another guard. Wait until he becomes distracted before executing your move.
3) Location of Samurai Daisho 3 – Third Floor of the Main Building
Following the elimination of the second Daisho, infiltrate the main building where the Legendary Chest is secured. The third Daisho, acting as the final guardian of the chest, is stationed on the third floor. Navigate stealthily to his location and eliminate him without alerting others, thereby granting you access to the chest.
Once you have successfully defeated all three Samurai Daishos in Sakamoto Castle, you will be ready to access the Legendary Chest.
