Choi Hyun-wook Joins Bae Suzy and Kim Seon-ho in Upcoming Drama Delusion

Choi Hyun-wook has officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated drama Delusion. This fantasy mystery period piece draws inspiration from a popular webtoon that originally ran from 2019 to 2020. The drama features former Miss A member Bae Suzy in the role of Song Jeong-hwa, a captivating and mysterious female character, while Kim Seon-ho will take on the role of Yun I-ho, a renowned but enigmatic painter.

Set against the backdrop of the Japanese colonial period, Delusion narrates the intriguing tale of a vampire woman entwined in the fate of a gifted painter tasked with capturing her likeness. The series will be directed by Han Jae-rim, recognized for his well-received films including The Face Reader, The King, and Emergency Declaration. This project marks his return to the drama format, following his successful Netflix series, The Eight Show, last year.

Changes in the Cast of Delusion

Significant adjustments have been made to the cast lineup for Delusion. Initially slated to star Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol, both actors exited the project due to undisclosed reasons. On April 2, a representative from SHOWBOX, the company producing the drama, confirmed that discussions regarding their involvement had ceased and that the production would proceed without them.

According to C-JeS Studios, which manages Ryu Jun-yeol, the actor had only briefly considered the role. In a statement, they indicated that the production team had requested the cessation of preliminary discussions, and the agency believed it was in the best interest of the project to withdraw from consideration.

On March 6, 2024, both actors were offered roles in Delusion, but shortly thereafter, rumors of a romantic relationship between them surfaced. Despite initial denials from their agencies, Han So-hee ultimately confirmed their relationship publicly on her blog. However, just days later, both parties announced the end of their relationship on March 30 to alleviate any stress related to their personal circumstances, according to information shared with SPOTV News.
