On March 17, 2025, the official X (previously known as Twitter) account for Cygames’ Cycomi manga platform unveiled an exciting promotional video announcing the upcoming anime adaptation of Chikuwa War: My Cute Invasion of Earth. This highly anticipated series is scheduled to debut on April 8, 2025.
This new anime is based on the manga series Chikuwa Senki ~ Ore no Kawaii Chikyu Shinryaku, created by the talented Bubu. The manga originally launched on the Cycomi website in January 2024. As part of the promotional strategy, the anime’s official site has announced that a special bundle edition featuring the first two volumes of the manga will be available for purchase at Shibuya Tsutaya in Tokyo, Japan, from April 1 to April 24, 2025.

As confirmed in the recent promotional video, Chikuwa War: My Cute Invasion of Earth will air weekly episodes every Tuesday at 9:55 PM JST on TV Kanagawa, beginning on April 8, 2025. In addition to traditional broadcasting, viewers will also be able to watch the series digitally on platforms like ABEMA, Prime Video, d Anime Store, Animehodai, DMM TV, and U-NEXT.
The promotional clip gives a glimpse into the life of Chikuwa, a quirky, Shiba Inu-like extraterrestrial who thrives on the “cute energy”emitted by people they perceive as adorable. The video illustrates Chikuwa’s interactions with a married couple, showcasing its affectionate nature as it helps care for their newborn child.
The anime’s creative team has also launched a dedicated website, revealing key details about the principal voice cast and production staff. The character of Chikuwa will be voiced by the renowned Tomokazu Sugita. Mayuko Kazama lends her voice to Madoka Inumiya, while Banjiro Inumiya, Madoka’s husband, is voiced by Mutsuki Iwanaka. Rie Hikisaka voices Nene Inumiya, and Shunichi Maki will play the character of the Geppler Alien.
The direction of the series is in the capable hands of Satoshi Mizuno, known for his work on My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog. The anime is being produced by IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio, with scriptwriting handled by Mizuno himself. Additional production support comes from Digital Shokunin and RD, while Yukari Omachi takes on the role of color key artist. Risa Kozai serves as the background artist and director of photography, and WAVE’s Morrigan is responsible for the anime’s music composition.
