Chainsaw Man Confirms Major Fan Theory, But There’s a Twist

Since its inception, Chainsaw Man has expertly kept its audience on their toes, deliberately guiding readers down unpredictable paths. Transitioning from an unconventional shōnen action narrative to themes of camaraderie and ultimately, a profound exploration of trauma and healing, Tatsuki Fujimoto’s acclaimed manga series is anything but straightforward. This trend continues with the ongoing second part, which offers a complex tapestry of dual protagonists, high school antics, and a narrative progression that feels both uncharted and enigmatic.

In the early episodes of Part Two, the emergence of a shadowy figure—the second Chainsaw Man—prompted speculation about his role as a potential antagonist. However, his presence dwindled before he reemerged in a monstrous new guise, bringing clarity to certain fan queries. Chapter #197, titled “3 Seconds,”has the Fakesaw Man reaffirming his link to the Justice Devil, confirming long-held suspicions among readers. Yet, in a hallmark of Fujimoto’s storytelling style, clarity emerges alongside a cascade of new questions.

Chainsaw Man continues to weave an intricate narrative filled with secrets. The Justice Devil has been an omnipresent figure since the inception of Part Two, executing contracts and making brief appearances, yet the true ramifications of this character’s role remain shrouded in mystery. In the recent chapter #197, it became apparent that the Fakesaw Man is drawing power from the Justice Devil. This revelation marks a significant step in unraveling the larger narrative puzzle of Part Two.

As the story progresses towards the climactic showdown with the Death Devil, the Fakesaw Man expressed his intention to save a boy at school, empowered by Justice. After dispatching a formidable opponent with disconcerting ease, he began an internal dialogue, frequently referring to a ‘we’ that hints at the Justice Devil’s influence within him. While this revelation might clarify some aspects of the Chainsaw impostor’s nature, it simultaneously sparks a multitude of questions regarding the series’ ultimate trajectory.

The recognition of the Fakesaw Man’s contract with the Justice Devil aligns with the theories circulating among fans throughout Part Two. However, this revelation is complicated by a significant detail: the Justice Devil was presumed dead since chapter #131. The contracts that were thought to involve the Justice Devil have instead been linked to the Fire Devil, which transformed members of the Chainsaw Man Church into mindless replicas.

This distinction raises an issue, as it contradicts the implication that the Fakesaw Man is currently confronting the Death Devil. Moreover, the Fire Devil, described as one of the formidable entities awaiting the Death Devil, would unlikely be seeking her end. Speculations surface that the Fakesaw Man is, in fact, a student at Fourth East High School, suggesting their potential connection to the Fire Devil, though the visual discrepancies with other church members remain unexplained.

While the identity of the devil linked to the Fakesaw remains undisclosed, the series offers tantalizing clues regarding the impostor’s personal identity. A key character of interest is Seigi Akoku, a member of the high school Devil Hunters who sports an eye patch and has largely flown under the radar of the plot. Observant fans might note a striking resemblance to Agni from one of Fujimoto’s prior works, Fire Punch.

This resemblance may suggest that Seigi is, in fact, contracted to the Fire Devil and could be the true identity behind the Fakesaw Man battling the Death Devil. As with many facets of Chainsaw Man, an answer to one query has opened the floodgates to a myriad of new questions. With the Death Devil’s role firmly established, readers remain hopeful that upcoming chapters will reveal more details as Chainsaw Man progresses towards its anticipated conclusion.
