Exciting news for Call of Duty fans! Players of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone who hold a subscription to either Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass are now eligible to acquire a free Combat Pack. This pack includes two operator skins, several weapon blueprints, and more. Although the Combat Pack is a new offering for Game Pass subscribers, it was made available to PlayStation Plus members earlier this year.
Following the significant acquisition of Activision-Blizzard by Microsoft, many gamers speculated on how the integration would influence Xbox Game Pass offerings. The inaugural Call of Duty title added to the service was 2023’s Modern Warfare 3, but Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 stands out as the first to debut on the platform on its official launch day. As the franchise becomes part of the Xbox family, more exclusive content is anticipated, making this Combat Pack an enticing opportunity for Game Pass subscribers.
New Combat Pack for Xbox Game Pass Subscribers
In February, Activision surprised fans with a PlayStation Plus-exclusive bundle for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, featuring operator skins, weapon blueprints, and other cosmetic enhancements. Now, those with an active Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription can access the same bundle. Unfortunately, subscribers to the Core or Standard tiers will not have this option. To claim the pack, players should visit the Microsoft or Xbox Store and search for “Call of Duty: Warzone – Game Pass Pack 1”.

While many Xbox users are pleased to see this Combat Pack become available, there was initial backlash when it first launched as a PlayStation exclusive. Gamers expressed disappointment that the included operator skins were not entirely new; these skins had been previously available in bundles like Blood Letting and Jungle Trooper, which some players had already purchased. This led to significant criticism, with some labeling the move as “scummy.”Many feel it’s unfair to those who had invested in prior content to see it repackaged as a free offering.
For those who missed out on purchasing the operator skins in earlier bundles, the Combat Pack now allows for access at no extra cost via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Moreover, Game Pass offers a variety of benefits beyond just Call of Duty content. Recently, the service added new titles, including South of Midnight, Commandos: Origins, and Blue Prince for day-one release. Additionally, fan-favorites like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 will be available starting April 15, followed by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on April 24.
