On December 6, Korean news outlets reported that according to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK members have renewed their exclusive contracts after an in-depth discussion.
YG Entertainment shared:
“After a thorough conversation with BLACKPINK, exclusive contracts were signed with the purpose of resuming their group activities, as it was decided based on deep trust.”

Yang Hyun Suk, founder of YG Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasm on working continuously with BLACKPINK.
Moreover, he furthered that BLACKPINK would keep doing their best to make an impact in the global music market as K-pop representatives. Yang Hyun Suk stated:
“We are truly delighted to continue our relationship with BLACKPINK. They will continue to do their best to shine brighter across the music market globally as a representative of K-pop and our agency.”
“We will send our unconditional support and faith in their group activities.”

BLACKPINK is set to repay the love of their fandom BLINK by releasing new albums and holding large-scale world tours with YG Entertainment’s full support.

On September 21, YG Entertainment released a brief statement on the group’s contract renewal.
According to sources, industry insiders stated that Rosé had renewed her contract, while the three other members Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa were reportedly transferring to other companies while engaging in their group activities in BLACKPINK.

However, YG Entertainment responded to the reports, saying that nothing had been finalized on the details mentioned and the negotiations were currently being processed.
“Nothing has been confirmed yet, and as of now, we are currently discussing the contract renewal of BLACKPINK,” YG stated.
Earlier on September 25, Korean news outlet News1 reported that members Jennie and Jisoo have launched their independent agencies. It also stated the idols’ group activities were being discussed with YG and that their agencies would be mostly for their solo endeavors.
YG then stated that no details have been confirmed regarding Jisoo and Jennie’s plans to establish their own companies.



On September 15, YG updated the K-pop community regarding Lisa’s contract renewal, which was also under discussion at the time.
