Best HRM-9 Warzone loadout: Class setup, attachments, perks

Even after getting nerfed the HRM-9 is still amongst one of the best SMGs in Warzone, and this is our optimized loadout to help you get the most out of it.

The Season 1 Reloaded update saw the introduction of two new weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone. In addition to the TAQ Evolvere, the battle royale’s first major update also added the HRM-9.

Upon arrival, the HRM-9 quickly established itself as one of the best submachine guns in Warzone. This led to it getting nerfed in Season 2, with its maximum damage range being reduced significantly. However, even after this change, it remains a top-tier weapon well worth using.

Here is the most up-to-date loadout built to get the most out of the HRM-9 and dominate enemy squads in Warzone.

Best HRM-9 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: VP27 Mini Brake S
  • Barrel: Princeps Long Barrel
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Folding Stock
  • Magazine: 50 Round Drum

The HRM-9 produces a lot of horizontal and visual recoil, making it difficult to keep on target. Improving this should be the number one focus of any HRM-9 build and the most impactful attachment to do so is the VP27 Mini Brake S muzzle.

Unfortunately, this muzzle lowers damage range slightly so it’s advised to use the Princeps Long Barrel to offset this and keep the HRM-9 competitive from further away. Equipping a Folding Stock isn’t a bad idea either to make the HRM more consistent, providing a huge boost to recoil control.

With the visual recoil of this SMG being so pronounced a suitable close to medium-range optic like the Slate Reflector is preferred. Finally, with Warzone’s increased health and TTK compared to multiplayer a larger magazine like the 50 Round Drum is extremely useful.

The HRM-9 can be built to be extremely accurate, making it reasonably competitive even at medium range.

HRM-9 Warzone Loadout: Perks and Equipment

  • Perk 1: Double Time
  • Perk 2: Mountaineer
  • Perk 3: Stalker
  • Perk 4: High Alert
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Stun Grenade

Unsurprisingly, Double Time is an excellent option to use with the HRM-9 as it’s a mobile SMG that benefits from the perks enhanced Tactical Sprint. Equally, Mountaineer further improves mobility by letting us fall safely from higher distances and completely removing the harsh movement penalty after landing.

Although niche, Stalker is still a strong Perk when used with a mobile SMG like the HRM-9. This Perk 3 lets you strafe left to right faster when aiming down sights which is great for throwing off enemies and gaining an edge in a tight gunfight.

High Alert remains an excellent choice for Perk 4 with it providing more value on average than any other option. When an enemy not using Cold-Blooded aims in your direction High Alert provides a warning indicating their whereabouts. This is great for gathering intel and avoiding an otherwise fatal shot.

Since this SMG is best suited to aggressive gameplay a Semtex makes sense as it can be used to either finish off downed enemies or flush them out of cover. For the tactical slot, a well-thrown Stun Grenade leaves other teams immobilized letting you sweep in for easy kills.

How to unlock HRM-9 in Warzone

The HRM-9 can be unlocked through the Armory by activating the SMG and then completing 3 Daily Challenges. Before Season 2, it was instead unlocked by completing Sector A21 of the Season 1 Battle Pass.

Best alternative to HRM-9 in Warzone

The Rival-9 shares a lot in common with the HRM-9 with both being mobile SMGs that are best suited to close-range engagements but still perform well at medium-range.
