A Glamorous Night at the Cannes Afterparty for ‘Die, My Love’
Last night, Cannes transformed into an epicenter of glitz and glamour as The Hollywood Reporter, in collaboration with Longines, held the official afterparty for the much-anticipated thriller, Die, My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay. The evening was filled with star-studded arrivals, captivating performances, and delectable culinary delights, reflecting the essence of the prestigious film festival.
Star-Studded Arrivals and Memorable Moments
Among the first to grace the scene was Robert Pattinson, who made a splash after attending the film’s premiere at the Palais, where it received an enthusiastic six-minute standing ovation. Shortly afterward, LaKeith Stanfield joined, displaying his flair with some spontaneous dance moves as photographers snapped away. Jennifer Lawrence made a stunning entrance later, accompanied by Longines CEO Matthias Breschan.
Other luminaries included Joaquin Phoenix and his wife, Rooney Mara, who turned heads while unintentionally blocking fellow guest Pedro Pascal from capturing any memorable shots. Dakota Johnson, eagerly awaited for her role in Celine Song’s upcoming summer film, Materialists, also attended alongside the charismatic Charli XCX and German actor Matthias Schweighöfer. Ali Abbasi, the director of last year’s Cannes entry The Apprentice, also joined the festivities, donning a stylish cream suit that was perfect for the Riviera ambiance.

A Celebration of Culinary Delights and Signature Cocktails
Hosted at the trendy venue Salama, the evening featured an enticing assortment of fine wines, including imported pinot noir and pinot blanc from Bordeaux and Côtes-d’Auvergne. Mouthwatering platters of sushi, falafel, and sliders provided a feast for the senses, complemented by an array of irresistible mini desserts like rich chocolate fondants, creamy delights, and fresh fruit skewers. Guests had the opportunity to indulge in creatively crafted themed cocktails, such as “Die, My Darling,” a refreshing mix of tequila, cointreau, and fresh lime juice, and “Feral Bloom,” which combined Grey Goose vodka, vanilla liqueur, and espresso.

The Ambiance: Music and Mystery at the Venue
Upon arrival at Cannes’ Rue Florian, guests were greeted by a vibrant carnival of private parties, creating a buzz around The Hollywood Reporter and Longines event. The atmosphere was electric, with a saxophonist navigating through the crowd, while a flutist atop a nearby roof serenaded the audience below. Inside Salama, moody lighting set the perfect tone, guiding guests through the chic bar and lively dance floor, where tables were designated for cast members to socialize and enjoy their beverages.
A Notable Encounter and Unveiling The Costume Mystery
Amidst the festivities, whispers circulated regarding an intriguing bird costume that had shown up on the movie’s red carpet. Speculation about whether it represented a turkey or a condor arose, but the confusion was swiftly clarified when organizers disclosed that the figure was a character from Raphael Quenard’s documentary I Love Peru. The documentary’s synopsis details a man’s spiritual quest in Peru after abandoning his regular life, led by a friend named Hugo David.
