Romance plays a vital role in Baldur’s Gate 3, particularly with characters such as Shadowheart, Astarion, and Karlach. Their unique traits add depth to the game, enticing players to form emotional bonds.
While you can certainly romance a character in the game, you may be curious to know if it’s possible to romance more than one companion in Larian Studios’ latest RPG.

Shadowheart is one of the characters you can romance in the game
Is it possible to romance multiple companions in Baldur’s Gate 3?
This means they will get angry will once you deepen the bond with someone, and the other characters will break apart from you. There are only two known multi-companion relationships that are possible:
- Shadowheart + Halsin
- Astarion + Halsin
This is because Halsin is the only character that is fine with polyamory. Other characters like Shadowheart, Asterion, Karlach, and others do not get along with each other, especially if you trying to build romantic relations with all of them.
Therefore, chances are you will end up failing the romance with other characters while you are trying to build one. This is definitely a problem as the game allows it, but they have also made it restrictive in some way.
Additionally, you can romance the Drow Twins: Sorn and Nym Orlith once you meet during Act 3. Players will not only be allowed to sleep with both, but if they already are in a romantic relationship with Astarion, Shadowheart or Halsin, they’ll be able to experience a foursome (or even fivesome) with them.
