On the morning of January 8th, actor Bae In-hyuk had an interview with Spotify News after MBC’s Fri-Sat drama “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract” ended and revealed various stories, from his chemistry with Lee Se-young and explanation of dating rumors.
Regarding Lee Se-young, Bae In-hyuk said, “Our age gap is not large, but I was very nervous when acting with her because she is much more experienced in this job. She’s an amazing actress with more know-how” , adding “However, she was so friendly and she treated me so nicely that I didn’t feel like she was a senior. Instead, she respected my ideas and listened to my thoughts, which helped me gain confidence” .
Filming a wedding scene for the first time in his life, Bae In-hyuk shared, “It was my first time doing a wedding scene so I didn’t know what to do. Thankfully, she (Lee Se-young) led the scene well and handled everything so smoothly. That’s why I felt very comfortable when doing the ending wedding in episode 12” .
When asked what kind of a partner Lee Se-young was, the actor said, “It was our first time working together. I felt the most comfortable with her and relied on her a lot” . He added, “I called her to ask about the parts I didn’t know and I think we had healthy communication because we shared our ideas with each other a lot. I learned a lot about how to keep in sync with a co-star” .
Bae In-hyuk and Lee Se-young were nominated for Best Couple at the 2023 MBC Acting Awards and showcased perfect chemistry. In particular, Lee Se-young even held Bae In-hyuk’s hand up at the event and said, “I’m married to a new man” , sparking dating rumors to arise.
In this regard, Bae In-hyuk said, “They told us to stand closer to each other during the video introduction so we did it, and such a funny situation occurred. I was a little embarrassed when she held my hands, but I think we should do it because we were nominated for Best Couple at an award ceremony” .
When asked about their conversation after dating rumors broke out, he said, “We didn’t mention it, but I don’t think it’s something bad” , adding “As soon as I heard the rumors, I was like ‘Suddenly? What?’, but I think it was because the viewers liked Yeon-woo and Tae-ha’s chemistry so much and the drama was not over at that time. I didn’t consider it something bad. It was rather fun.”
