Solo Leveling enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating the Juju Island Raid Arc ever since the anime’s inaugural season. Although the initiatives from the Japanese Hunter Association offered a glimmer of hope for their Korean counterparts, the situation has escalated into a critical crisis, as S-Rank Hunters face an unprecedented threat.
Four years ago, a catastrophic dungeon break occurred when a gate opened on Jeju Island, leading to devastating consequences for the Korean S-Rank Hunters, who were unable to close it. Following this incident, the Korean government organized three missions aimed at locating and neutralizing the danger, all of which were unsuccessful. With their options dwindling and the emergence of terrifying mutations among the ants, Korea decided to embark on a fourth raid mission, supported by an alliance with Japan.
The Dire Consequences of the Ant King’s Arrival in Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 10

In the unfolding events of Solo Leveling Season 2, the Japanese Hunter Association proposed a collaborative effort with the Korean Hunter Association for the Jeju Island Raid. Their strategy involved sending ten S-Rank Hunters to divert the ant threat while the Korean teams focused on eliminating the Ant Queen. Although this approach might not eradicate all the ants immediately, it was expected that their population would dwindle within a year.
However, complications arose when an unforeseen dungeon boss emerged on Jeju Island. Just as the Korean S-Rank Hunters infiltrated the Ant Queen’s lair, Cha Hae-In discovered a room filled with ant eggs that was home to a massive egg, which had mysteriously already hatched.

Unbeknownst to the Korean S-Rank Hunters, the newly emerged hidden boss, known as the Ant King, was already on a rampage. The episode showcased a gripping moment when Japanese S-Rank Hunters Tatsumi Fujishima, Kenzo Tanaka, and Akari Shimizu dispatched a wave of ants. As Tanaka sought assistance from Shimizu for healing, tragedy struck—before any negotiation could take place, the Ant King delivered a devastating blow by beheading Shimizu.
This shocking development left viewers in awe, showcasing that the Ant Queen’s offspring was far more formidable than anticipated. What was once a manageable crisis had transformed into a formidable new threat—one so potent that the S-Rank Hunters failed to sense the Ant King’s perilous approach, highlighting his incredible speed and strength.

Given that the Ant King effortlessly dispatched one of the ten Japanese S-Rank Hunters within seconds, the other Hunters now face an uphill battle for survival. Realistically, only Goto Ryuji stands a chance against this new menace; yet, considering Sung Jinwoo’s superior abilities, the odds seem grim for all the Japanese S-Rank Hunters.
As the tension escalates, fans are left hoping that the Korean S-Rank Hunters will manage to endure this perilous encounter and emerge unscathed.
