They are joined by new allies, Shotei and his daughter Katsuhime, in their battle against Akechi Kagemitsu. However, players can encounter some difficulty locating Shotei during the Showdown in Sakamoto quest, as his position is somewhat ambiguous, being on the outskirts of the town with no clear landmarks. Initiating the Showdown in Sakamoto Quest
The Showdown in Sakamoto is the concluding task aimed at acquiring the Naginata of the Shinbakufu, where players must ultimately assassinate Akechi Kagemitsu. Before diving into this significant quest, players need to complete two critical prerequisites: An Evening in Otsu and Against the Koga-ryu.
Once these initial quests are complete, players are tasked with meeting Shotei near the town of Sakamoto. However, it’s quite common to struggle to find him among the undiscovered locations nearby.
Locating Shotei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To successfully locate Shotei, consider the following clues provided during the quest:
- Shotei is found in Omi.
- He is situated at a tower close to Sakamoto.
- The tower provides an overview of the town.
Despite these hints, it can be somewhat misleading as there are no visible towers in the immediate area of Sakamoto. To find Shotei, head north from Sakamoto’s center. Look towards the fields on the outskirts, and you should see a wooden structure perched on a hilltop (see the image above for reference). This is the tower you need to reach to find Shotei.
From here, take a path to the left side of the hill and begin your ascent. After navigating through some twists and turns, you’ll arrive at Sakamoto Tower, where Shotei will be positioned at the cliff’s edge, gazing out over the town.
With Shotei located, you’re in a prime position to continue with the quest and prepare to assassinate Akechi Kagemitsu, who resides within Sakamoto Castle. Just keep in mind there are several preparatory actions required before you make your move on the assassination target.
