The Price of Rice: A Comprehensive Guide to the Main Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
The Price of Rice is a pivotal quest in the Assassin’s Creed Shadows storyline, situated within the tenth chapter, aptly named The Hunt Continues. Players will navigate a world steeped in turmoil, as they confront the oppressive Daikan of Omi, who unjustly burdens the local farmers with exorbitant taxes. This mission can be approached through the perspectives of two characters: Yasuke and Naoe.
Overview of The Price of Rice Quest
To embark on The Price of Rice quest, players must first complete the preceding mission titled A Talk with a Lady. Both Yasuke and Naoe have the opportunity to engage in this quest, but selecting Naoe may provide a strategic advantage, allowing for a swift assassination opportunity against the main target.
Initiating the Quest
To start the mission, access the Onryo/Shinbafuku board and locate The Price of Rice quest under The Mourner’s icon. Your first task is to find Kuma, who is stationed in The Shimmering Fields of Omi, located just above the Hachiman Canal and beneath the Himure Hachiman Shrine. Engage with Kuma, who will then guide you to your next objective to the west of the Hachiman Canal. Follow the objective marker to your destination and converse with the local farmers.
Defeating the Samurai
After speaking with the farmers, they will reveal the presence of a samurai loyal to the Daikan. Proceed northeast to locate this foe and defeat him in a climactic battle. Once victorious, make your way back to the farmers, who will then implore you to eliminate the corrupt Daikan himself.
Confronting the Daikan
The Daikan is located within the Daikan mansion, positioned in the southwest region of Azuchi, adjacent to the Shingu Shrine. Upon arrival, players will find the Daikan standing at the entrance of the mansion. If you are playing as Naoe, utilize the rooftops for an assassination strike. Conversely, Yasuke will need to engage him in combat for a direct confrontation.
Upon successfully completing the assassination of the Daikan, return to Kuma’s lookout point and interact with him to conclude The Price of Rice main quest.
