On March 7, a user on Facebook ignited an online discussion by sharing striking images of what appeared to be a Xeno frog, characterized by a notably elongated head and body. Despite the obscured visibility of its eyes and other features, viewers could readily identify its limbs and tail. In a now-deleted post, the user captioned the images:
“I thought everyone here would appreciate some xenofrogs.”

This post quickly gained traction, achieving nearly 130,000 reactions and over 11,000 shares as users continued to engage with the content. However, it is important to clarify that Xeno frogs are fictional, with the images originating from the artistic creations of Li Changchun, as noted by Facebook user Carly Trautwein. A Reddit user identified as u/Few_Simple9049 revealed in the r/LV426 subreddit that these sculptures were crafted in 2018.
The Artistic Vision Behind the Xeno Frog
Artist Li Changchun is known for creating sculptures that blend reality with myth, often drawing upon the concept of cryptids. The design of the Xeno frog appears to be inspired by the iconic Xenomorphs from science fiction, further contributing to its otherworldly aesthetic.
Insights into the Xenomorph
According to Fandom, the Xenomorph, officially designated as Xenomorph XX121, is an extraterrestrial endoparasitoid imagined in the lore of popular media. This fearsome creature is described as standing between 7.5 and 9 feet tall, weighing approximately 400 to 600 pounds, with a muscular tail and a distinctive curved, oblong head. Its coloration ranges beyond the traditional green to include black, gray, blue, and bronze shades, enhancing its alien allure.

The Xenomorph’s lore portrays it as a deadly predator that emerges from a host organism, showcasing an impressive capacity for learning and adaptation. Notably, while often perceived as fearsome, these creatures are also averse to fire and communicate through distressing sounds when threatened. Their predatory behavior is described as stealthy, often employing ambush tactics against a variety of living beings:
“Display predatory behavior towards any living life-forms, usually using stealth tactics to ambush its prey.”
Among the most formidable Xenomorphs is the species’ Queen, reported to be twice the size of a typical Xenomorph and towering over 40 meters. In addition to impressive strength and speed, the Queen exhibits advanced intelligence.
Xenomorphs have become a staple in the Alien franchise, making appearances in films such as Alien vs. Predator: War, Alien: River of Pain, and Alien: Isolation.
Xeno Frogs in Contemporary Media
Despite the fictional nature of Xeno frogs, interest remains high, particularly with the announcement of new projects in the Alien universe. Reports from recent events like SXSW unveil plans for the upcoming series Alien: Earth, which is rumored to feature Xenomorphs. An installation titled The Wreckage showcased an impressive depiction of these extraterrestrial beings navigating spacecraft tunnels, further stirring excitement among fans.
While no official confirmation of Xenomorphs appearing in the new series has been released, online buzz highlights the enthusiastic anticipation among fans.
