Announcement of Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu! Anime Adaptation with Visual Revealed

On March 16, 2025, the official staff unveiled exciting news for fans of the Girls und Panzer franchise with the announcement of the upcoming anime film, Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu!. This new project is set to hit theaters in Japan in four separate installments, kicking off in the winter of 2026. However, the exact dates for the release have yet to be confirmed.

The Upcoming Release: Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu!

The anime adaptation draws from Maruko Nii’s manga series of the same name, a valued spin-off from the well-established Girls und Panzer universe. The manga has been captivating readers by being serialized in Monthly Comic Alive, published by Kadokawa, since 2013. Notably, the 23rd tankobon volume is anticipated for release on March 22, 2025, further enriching the franchise’s offerings.

The announcement coincided with the launch of a new website and an update on the franchise’s X account. The visual teaser features beloved characters Miho Nishizumi, Saori Takeba, Yukari Akiyama, Hana Isuzu, and Mako Reizei, complete with their recognizable appearances from the original anime series. The logo for the film, Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu!, is prominently displayed as well.

Although the franchise had scheduled the Oorai Haru Matsuri Kairaku Festa event for March 16, poor weather compelled the staff to cancel this gathering. However, fans can still look forward to a series of stage events during AnimeJapan 2025, which is happening on March 22-23, 2025.

In addition to the visual reveal and project announcement, the anime team disclosed key details about the voice cast. Returning to their roles are Ai Kayano (Saori Takebe), Mai Fuchigami (Miho Nishizumi), Ikumi Nakagami (Yukari Akiyama), Mami Ozaki (Hana Isuzu), and Yuka Iguchi (Mako Reizei). This continuity helps maintain the familiar atmosphere fans have come to cherish.

The film will be directed by Masami Shimoda, with a collaborative production effort between P.A. Works and Actas. Takahiko Usui will serve as the general director, while Noboru Kimura is tasked with script duties. The series character designs are credited to Humikane Shimada and Isao Sugimoto, with additional support from Takeshi Nogami.

The animation direction is in the capable hands of Kosuke Kawazura, Sayo Mizuno, and Yuki Akiyama. In terms of sound, Takayuki Yamaguchi, a returning figure from the franchise, has been appointed sound director, alongside Yasumasa Koyama handling the sound effects. Showgate will oversee distribution for this much-anticipated film.
