Andrew Tate Initiates Defamation Lawsuit Against Australian YouTuber

The infamous online personalities, Andrew and Tristan Tate, have initiated legal action in Florida against a number of YouTubers, including Australian content creator Nathan Pope. According to coverage from The Advertiser published on March 26, 2025, the lawsuit alleges defamation resulting from social media posts and seeks over $50,000 in damages.

Nathan Pope, a resident of Adelaide, has reportedly been targeted by the Tate brothers due to his posts that they claim have harmfully affected their reputations. In response to the allegations, Pope has asserted his innocence:

“I’m not going to be silenced and intimidated, because I’m confident I have done nothing wrong.”

For background, Pope has previously gained attention for his activism against the Tates, notably launching a Change.org petition last year. This petition called for major social media platforms such as Apple and Google to remove Andrew Tate’s platform ‘The Real World’ and its associated apps from their stores. This platform emerged following the perceived closure of Hustlers University.

Andrew Tate has been a polarizing figure, often in the eyes of controversy. For much of 2024, he and his brother were ordered to remain in Romania as part of ongoing investigations into allegations of human trafficking and sexual assault. However, in early February 2025, reports indicated that this travel restriction was lifted, allowing them to travel to Florida, which incited further backlash, particularly from Governor Ron DeSantis, who publicly declared that the brothers were unwelcome in the state. Despite this, they proceeded to file the lawsuit soon after arriving in Florida.

As of now, Andrew Tate has not released a public statement regarding the defamation lawsuit. Subsequent reports suggest that the brothers have returned to Romania.
