AMC Announces Season 3 Renewal of ‘Mayfair Witches’

AMC Renewed for a Third Season of Mayfair Witches

AMC Networks continues to expand its thrilling Anne Rice universe with the renewal of Mayfair Witches for a third season. This announcement was made alongside the exciting news that Thomas Schnauz, renowned for his work on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, will join the series as co-showrunner. Schnauz will collaborate closely with Esta Spalding, the current showrunner.

Setting the Stage in Salem

The upcoming season will transport viewers to Salem, Massachusetts—a historic location infamous for its witch trials in the late 1600s. The narrative will delve deeper into witchcraft mythology while introducing an array of fresh characters, according to AMC officials.

“The drama and complexities of the Mayfair family continue to be an intriguing and enchanting source of story, and expanding that story against the backdrop of Salem, a historical haven of witchcraft, is an exciting next chapter for this series and our larger Anne Rice Immortal Universe,” said Dan McDermott, President of Entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks.

The series’ second season concluded with protagonist Rowan, portrayed by Alexandra Daddario, attaining unprecedented power—but not without significant sacrifice. Spalding hinted at the potential exploration of this dynamic in Season three. “When you have the power she has, you can’t just sit on your hands and act like a good girl,” Spalding remarked, indicating that Rowan’s journey for empowerment will continue to unfold.

Exciting Collaborations and Future Prospects

In her statement regarding the renewal, Spalding expressed her enthusiasm about Schnauz joining the team, emphasizing the innovative spin on the Salem narrative that is set to captivate audiences. “It promises to be our most delicious yet,” she proclaimed about Season three.

“I’m incredibly excited to reunite with both AMC and [executive producer] Mark Johnson on Mayfair Witches. The work I’ve done so far with Esta Spalding on season three has been fantastic and fun, and we’re hoping that translates to the screen for fans and new viewers of the show,” Schnauz added.

The cast for Mayfair Witches also includes notable actors such as Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels. Under the executive production of Spalding, Schnauz, Johnson, along with Michelle Ashford and Tom Williams, Season three promises to further enrich the narrative tapestry of the franchise.

Looking Ahead to Other Anne Rice Adaptations

As AMC broadens its adaptation of Anne Rice’s works, the anticipated third season of Interview With the Vampire is set to premiere in 2026. Additionally, a new series titled The Talamasca: The Secret Order, featuring Nicholas Denton and Elizabeth McGovern, will debut in the fall, continuing to bring Rice’s legendary characters to life on the screen.
