Recently, Alphonso Davies, a professional football player from Canada, extended an intriguing challenge to YouTube star and live streamer Darren “IShowSpeed.”During a Twitch broadcast on April 21, 2025, Davies called out IShowSpeed to compete in a race, generating excitement among fans and followers alike.
During his Twitch session, IShowSpeed reacted to a clip in which Davies expressed his desire for a race, saying:
“Speed, my brother, if you’re watching, appreciate you. Bro, we still gotta do the race! We still got to do the race.”
IShowSpeed’s Reaction: Unsure About Davies’ Injury
This isn’t the first instance where IShowSpeed has sought to race an athlete; he previously attempted to challenge U.S. track star Sha’Carri Richardson to a race, a challenge she declined, citing a desire not to race “for free.”
Moreover, it’s noteworthy that Alphonso Davies has been dealing with an injury that has kept him off the field for nearly a month. He sustained a torn ACL during a match between Canada and the United States in the Concacaf Nations League, a serious injury that necessitates surgery and extensive rehabilitation.
In response to his injury, IShowSpeed raised a valid concern during his stream, asking his audience:
“You’re injured! Chat, isn’t he injured?”
Despite his current condition, Davies expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming race, suggesting they could either race now or when he fully recovers. He stated:
“We can do it right now, or when I’m back healthy. When I’m back fully fit. When I can run again. We gotta do the race… We’ve been talking about doing this for a long time.”
In addition to this exciting challenge, IShowSpeed recently mentioned plans to execute a stunt to celebrate reaching 40 million subscribers on YouTube. He expressed interest in attempting “wing walking,”a thrilling airborne activity where an individual walks along the wings of a flying airplane.
