Skull and Bones is the new pirate-themed open-world action RPG from Ubisoft, and it’s finally setting sail on February 16. Here’s all the editions available for pre-order, and what’s included in each.
After a decade of delays, and a murky beta period, the release of Skull and Bones is fast approaching. The open-world action RPG, set on the high seas, is the latest offering from Ubisoft. Beginning it’s life as a spin-off of the popular Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, the game has evolved since its conception.
When it first premiered back at E3 2017, the developer promised it would take the naval mechanics of Black Flag to another level. In Skull and Bones players take on the role of a run-of-the-mill pirate brigand, and embark on a quest to become the high seas most infamous swashbuckler.
With the game’s launch on February 16, here’s the editions available for pre-order, and what they come with.

What editions of Skull & Bones are available for pre-order?
Skull and Bones has two editions of the game available for pre-order.
Standard edition – $59.99At just under $60, the standard edition gives players access to the base game only.
Premium edition – $89.99
Unlike the standard edition, the pricier premium edition comes in just shy of $90. It includes several pre-order bonuses, like cosmetic items and access to two additional missions.
Skull & Bones’ combat takes its cues from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
What pre-order bonuses are available with the premium edition?
There are a few premium bonuses included with the premium edition of Skull and Bones:
- Premium Bonus Pack
- Artbook and Soundtrack (Digital editions)
- Smuggler Pass Token
- Two additional missions
The Premium Bonus Pack grants players the Ballad of Bloody Bones Collection. This bundle includes the Bloody Bones Captain Outfit, and an assortment of ship ornaments including a ship wheel, helm decor and a mast trophy. As well as other decorative elements for their ships from within the Ashen Corsair collection.
The premium edition of the game also comes with a version of the game’s official artbook, in digital format, and it’s accompanying soundtrack.
But players are most likely to be excited by the additional missions included in the game’s premium edition, and the Smuggler Pass Token.
The premium edition of Skull & Bones will include two additional missions.
What are the additional missions included in the Skull & Bones premium edition?
The two additional missions including when pre-ordering the premium edition of the game are The Ashen Corsair and Bloody Bones’ Legacy.
The first mission players will gain access to is The Ashen Corsair, upon completing this mission, players will unlock the Ashen Followers outfit for their character.
The second mission, Bloody Bones’ Legacy, gives players access to a unique pet: Death’s Hand.
What is the Smuggler Pass Token?
A Smuggler Pass Token unlocks the premium smuggler pass, which is the seasonal battle pass available for Skull and Bones.
The Smuggler Pass Token included with the game’s premium edition is useable once during any season.
