Bend Studios has announced an array of accessibility features for Days Gone Remastered, set to launch on PlayStation 5 on April 25, 2025. Drawing inspiration from its 2019 predecessor, this remaster promises significant graphical enhancements alongside various new game modes and unique customization options designed to create a more inclusive gaming experience.
Following a leak in late 2024, the official announcement for Days Gone Remastered was made in February 2025. Bend Studios confirmed that additional improvements are planned specifically for PS5 Pro users. Although the original version was met with mixed reviews—primarily due to technical issues and mission design—the resurgence with this remaster aims to provide players with a fresh perspective on the expansive, post-apocalyptic world of Oregon.
In a recent PlayStation Blog article, Kevin McAllister, Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, elaborated on the extensive accessibility options. These features include the ability to choose from 11 different subtitle colors and a fully customizable High Contrast Mode that enhances visual clarity throughout the game. Additionally, the audio has been revamped with UI Narration and Collectible Audio Cues, which will assist players in locating hard-to-find collectibles. Furthermore, players will experience these audio cues through the DualSense controller’s speaker. Control schemes will be fully customizable, and players can manipulate gameplay speed according to their preferences. Some of these features are also expected to be integrated into the PC version of Days Gone.
Enhanced Accessibility and Customization in Days Gone Remastered

Earlier this month, McAllister highlighted that players can expect noticeable visual improvements on the PS5, which include enhanced shadow quality, better lighting effects, richer fog depth, and an increase in enemy hordes. These upgrades are complemented by the introduction of exciting new game modes, such as the Horde Assault mode, which allows for battles with up to 800 enemies.
PC gamers also have something to look forward to, as the Days Gone Broken Road DLC is scheduled for release on Steam on April 25, 2025. This expansion will serve as a parallel to the PS5 remaster, featuring DualSense controller compatibility, an elevated photo mode, as well as both Permadeath and Horde Assault game modes.
