A Comprehensive Guide to Achieving All Endings in Atomfall

Atomfall is an engaging action-survival game that features six unique endings, each with its own narrative twists. Your main objective is to find a way to escape the perilous quarantine zone. Before we delve into the endings, let’s explore the game’s background and setting for better context.

Set five years after the notorious Windscale disaster, the game unfolds in an alternate universe inspired by real-world events, presenting its own distinct plot. You start the adventure as a scientist clad in a hazmat suit awakens you, urging you to investigate a crucial location known as the Interchange, where the truth surrounding the calamity lies hidden.

As you explore, your path to freedom gradually materializes, unveiling complex interactions and choices that lead to various potential outcomes. In this article, we will outline all six endings, assisting you in determining which path to choose based on your gameplay approach.

Discover the Six Endings of Atomfall

Each ending in Atomfall is distinct, requiring you to provide assistance to specific characters in return for their pledge to help you escape. Connections exist between some of these key figures, while others pursue their own unique goals, contributing to a layered narrative. Engaging in conversations with them will offer insights into the storyline while you gather essential items for your journey. Notably, make sure to complete the endings associated with Dr. Garrow and Dr. Alan Holder for a comprehensive understanding of the game.

The pivotal characters influencing your escape include: The Unknown Telephone Caller, Captain Grant Sims, Dr. Garrow, Dr. Alan Holder, Joyce Tanner, and Mother Jago.

This guide focuses not on detailed mission instructions for each character but on significant story elements and final objectives. A common task across all endings, however, involves activating the Interchange and powering up the Central Processing Center to unlock the Windscale entrance.

To achieve this, you must activate all four Data Centers: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta. Once operational, utilize the Signal Redirector to direct power to the Central Processing Center, which will subsequently unlock the entrance to Windscale.

The Unknown Telephone Caller Ending

Your initial encounter in the game involves a mysterious telephone caller who reaches out to you as soon as you exit the bunker and step into the Slatten Dale area. The ringing phone in a quaint red booth signals a cryptic message: “Oberon must die.” This shocking declaration sets the suspenseful tone for your adventure.

This ending is one of the simplest, requiring you to eliminate Oberon. Follow the established steps to access the Windscale entrance, enter, and destroy Oberon. Inside the Oberon site, four explosives are available—two on each side. Activate them, return to the control room, and pull the Self-Destruct lever to demolish the site.

Finally, return to your starting point—the Derelict Bunker. Enter the original room, and as instructed by the Telephone Caller, inhaled sleeping gas will render you unconscious, concluding the game.

The Captain Grant Sims Ending

Captain Grant Sims, head of the Protocol Army, awaits your assistance upon your arrival in Wyndham Village. To gain his trust, investigate the village’s peculiar happenings, such as a murder inside the church.

Once Sims trusts you, he will request that you recover information from Dr. Garrow, a high-value prisoner in Skethermoor Prison. Working with the Protocol Army grants you safe passage through restricted zones, although the Interchange entrance will remain off-limits.

Retrieve the necessary information from Dr. Garrow and secure the all-important Signal Redirector, essential for powering the Central Processing Center and opening the Windscale entrance. Additionally, you’ll need to recover a stolen radio part from The Speaking Cave in Casterfall Woods, taken by the Druids. Upon completion, Sims will promise you a way out.

For the final step, he will instruct you to enter the Windscale plant and eliminate Oberon, mirroring the mission in the Telephone Caller ending. Upon success, return to Skethermoor Camp, where a plane will await you and Sims.

The Dr. Garrow Ending

Dr. Garrow is instrumental to the narrative, having played a significant role in the creation of Oberon and the subsequent disaster that follows. Her confinement in Skethermoor Prison on the lowest level as a high-priority detainee makes her a critical ally.

To unravel the full story, assisting her is vital. Start by orchestrating her escape from prison. Once free, she will relocate to the Interchange for further assistance.

Garrow will ask you to issue the command “GEN ERA,” the purpose of which remains undisclosed. Executing this command clears any stored data. Upon your return, she will shed light on how Oberon was initially devised for creating Atomic Batteries, an energy source aimed at revolutionizing technology in Britain.

Her next request involves extracting a sample from the Windscale plant. To proceed, you need to power a drill using two Atomic Batteries, obtainable by either:

  • Destroying the robots near the Oberon site.
  • Retrieving one from the Oberon site’s storeroom(if you have it).

Once the drill is operational, access the control room, pull the extraction lever, and obtain the sample from the designated console.

Return to Dr. Garrow at the Robotics Head Office for a final conversation before both of you escape together.

The Dr. Alan Holder Ending

Dr. Alan Holder is a hidden character that requires diligent searching to encounter him. He presents one of the most complex endings, providing profound insights into Oberon and the ensuing disaster.

Your quest begins in the Medical Section of the Interchange, where you will need to acquire the Church Cellar Key. Next, venture to St. Katherine’s Church in Wyndham Village to access a hidden basement room. Use the key to enter and confront Dr. Alan Holder.

If Dr. Garrow remains imprisoned, Holder will prompt you to free her, but he harbors plans to kill her later. He then directs you to procure a poison from the Medical Section using a Keycard he provides you.

This poison, tagged as Sample One, is intended to eliminate Oberon. Follow these steps to proceed:

  1. Reach the Oberon site.
  2. Identify and turn on two fire safety valves.
  3. Locate the Fire Safety Fluid Input Console, insert Sample One, and activate the Fire Safety System lever in the control room.

This sequence will disperse the poison, effectively neutralizing Oberon. Afterward, reunite with Dr. Alan Holder in the Medical Tunnel for your escape.

The Joyce Tanner Ending

Joyce Tanner is less integral to the overarching narrative, rendering this one of the least impactful endings in Atomfall.

To proceed with her storyline, you must first activate all three Radio Towers, located in:

  • Slatten Dale
  • Skethermoor
  • Casterfell Woods

After activation, she will instruct you to:

  1. Retrieve the sample (as in Dr. Garrow’s ending).
  2. Destroy the Oberon site (following methods from both Sims and the Telephone Caller endings).

Joyce will be waiting for you in Casterfell Woods, where a plane awaits to facilitate your escape together.

The Mother Jago Ending

Mother Jago provides a uniquely profound ending, wherein you do not escape in the conventional sense; instead, you experience a spiritual transformation, becoming one with the earth.

Jago believes the Oberon infection signifies natural evolution, aimed at healing the planet. Her mission is to amplify the infection rather than eradicate it.

To support her objectives, follow these directives:

  1. Retrieve her Herbalism Book from the Druids’ Castle in Casterfell Woods.
  2. Make an offering at The Speaking Cave, placing it beneath a branch statue.
  3. Acquire a Growth Stimulant from the Medical Tunnels.

Upon escaping the Windscale plant, venture to the Druids’ Castle in Casterfell Woods. In the lowest section, locate a blue-lit pit. Jump into the pit to obtain your spiritual freedom.

This comprehensive guide covers each of the six varied endings in Atomfall, providing insights that enrich the overall gaming experience.
