Wondering whether Stellar Blade will have microtransactions?
Stellar Blade is one of the most eagerly anticipated PS5 exclusives of 2024, boasting fast-paced action gameplay similar to Nier Automata. The title has certainly caught the attention of the gaming community, partly due to the protagonist’s striking design and features.
While Stellar Blade features both a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition, many fans will be wondering whether additional cosmetics and features will be locked behind microtransactions.
Will Stellar Blade have microtransactions?
Eve will feature many unlockable outfits.
There is no information on whether Stellar Blade will feature any form of microtransactions. In an interview with Pushsquare, Game Director Hyung-Tae Kim revealed that there are around 30 outfits in Stellar Blade – all of which can be unlocked through gameplay.
This means players don’t need to part with any money to acquire them. Aside from outfits for Eve, there are also unlockable hairstyles and other accessories like earrings and glasses. Just like with Stellar Blade’s outfits, these can be unlocked by completing quests or purchasing them from the in-game shop.
However, in a recent interview with Game Informer (via NoisyPixel), Kim revealed that his team plans to add more outfits to the game after release. Whether these extra outfits will be paid or given to players free remains to be seen, but for now, it looks like there will be plenty of costumes available both at launch and after release.
