How many people play Battlefield 2042? Player count in 2024

In nothing short of a remarkable turnaround, Battlefield 2042 has gone from irrelevance to drawing in a sizable playerbase. But how many people are actually playing Battlefield 2042 in March 2024? Here’s the player count for DICE’s FPS game.

Invisibility glitches, sky swimming, and overpowered Hovercrafts are some of the many reasons that Battlefield 2042 had a less-than-ideal launch. That problematic launch contributed considerably to the game’s player base, with many looking to Battlefield V, or even Call of Duty to get their FPS fix.

However, that all changed starting in October 2023 when Season 6: Dark Creations was released alongside it being sold at a sizable discount and numerous free-to-play weekends. These factors have combined to make Battlefield 2042 surprisingly popular given its troubled past.

With that in mind, we’ve sifted through the data to try and see just how many people are playing Battlefield 2042 in March 2024. Not only that, but we’ll line these numbers up against some recent Battlefield games too.

Updated March 5, 2024, with updated player count information.

Season 6’s launch massively bolstered Battlefield 2042’s once-struggling player count.

Battlefield 2042 managed to attract an average player count of 10,314 over the last 30 days. The numbers have drastically dropped since November 2023 which was as high as 20,645.

To be clear, there is no true data aggregator that can find the live numbers across all platforms. Instead, these figures from Steam Charts only reflect the FPS game’s player count on PC meaning the full player count will be even higher.

Even though these figures only reveal Steam’s traffic, the general consensus would probably certify that this is how things have gone for Battlefield 2042 across all platforms.

EA and DICE have finally managed to make Battlefield 2042 popular once again.

The other Battlefield games are bringing in the following average concurrent players over the last 30 days, according to SteamCharts:

  • Battlefield V: 23,594
  • Battlefield 1: 9,347
  • Battlefield 4: 1,482

Although these numbers fall short of 2042 they are still impressive given the age of some of these games.
