Mortal Kombat 1: How to get Sub-Zero’s MK3 skin

Sub-Zero’s MK3 skin is currently available in the MK1 premium shop; here’s how to access it now and in the future if it rotates back into the game.

On February 28, NetherRealm deployed the Peacemaker update, preparing the game for the DC character’s early access launch.

The patch also opened the door for new character skins, one of which entered the shop after a short maintenance period.

Sub-Zero’s iconic unmasked look from Mortal Kombat 3 is the skin in question.

How to unlock Sub-Zero’s MK3 skin in MK1

Items such as skins, announcer voices, and gear pieces often rotate in and out of Mortal Kombat 1’s premium storefront. At the time of writing, Sub-Zero’s MK3 skin is available to purchase for all players.

To access the in-game store, users must select the “Store” prompt on the game’s main menu screen. The new Sub-Zero skin appears front and center in a box labeled “Premium Items.”

Notably, while the Deadly Alliance designs for Sub-Zero and Scorpion cost 1,000 Dragon Krystals apiece, the MK3 bundle only asks for 600 Dragon Krystals.

In addition to the MK3 skin itself, the Sub-Zero’s new MK1 bundle also includes five different color palettes and a mask.

It’s currently unclear how long this particular skin will remain available for purchase. However, if the Deadly Alliance add-ons serve as any indication, the MK3 bundle for Sub-Zero will likely rotate in and out of the Premium Shop if it’s ever removed.
