Skull and Bones: How to get Pieces of Eight

While the base currency of Skull and Bones is Silver, Pieces of Eight are an alternate currency that players can use to purchase rare weapons and other cosmetic items from the game’s Black Market. Here’s how to get Pieces of Eight in Skull and Bones.

Skull and Bones, Ubisoft’s open-world action-adventure MMORPG, lets players embark on a quest for fame and fortune as the High Sea’s most infamous pirate lord. Starting out as a lowly swashbuckler, players climb the ranks by completing daring feats with their crews and taking down devious foes in ship-to-ship combat.

Once players have a certain amount of infamy, they’ll gain access to features like the Helm and the Black Market. They’ll also gain access to new, challenging missions, which grant Pieces of Eight.

Pieces of Eight are much rarer than Silver, but well worth the effort involved in acquiring them.

They’re rewarded to players for completing some of the game’s more difficult content, and can be used to purchase rare cosmetic items from the Black Market — and better weapons too.

How to get Pieces of Eight in Skull and Bones

Players can acquire Pieces of Eight after they’ve unlocked the Helm inside their Smuggler’s Hideout. Players earn Pieces of Eight as a reward for completing Order Registry tasks in the Helm.

Order Registry tasks generally consist of shipping certain goods, like rum or opium, to a client. Players will need to accept an order, and then ensure they’re carrying the required goods in their ship’s cargo. (Don’t leave them in the warehouse!) Then set sail to drop off the goods at the designated buyer to receive their Pieces of Eight.

However, players won’t be able to fast travel while actively tracking an Order Registry task from the Helm. They’ll need to sail to the buyer’s spot directly to get their reward.

While this is the most common way for players to get their hands on Pieces of Eight, there are some alternative methods too. There’s a chance difficult world events will grant Pieces of Eight as a reward, and occasionally Ubisoft Connect rewards can give them out too.
