Ubisoft‘s upcoming pirate game is shortly upon us and brings a whole new experience for all sea lovers who want to explore the unknown. Skull and Bones features the golden age of piracy where renegade captains command warships in search of treasures.

At the time of writing, Skull and Bones open beta is running which allows players to catch a glimpse of the action before the game hits the stores on February 16, 2024.

Before channeling their inner Captain Jack Sparrow to delve into the unknown, players might wonder if they can play Skull and Bones offline.

Can you play Skull and Bones offline?

Unfortunately, no, you cannot play Skull and Bones offline. Ubisoft has confirmed their game is an online-only experience which means you need to have an internet connection all the time while playing Skull and Bones.

You join an online server while playing the game and then only you’ll be able to go on your journey as a pirate. This news can be a bummer for those with limited data or an unstable internet connection.

However, Skull and Bones being an MMORPG title, an online-only experience makes sense and the lack of an offline mode will stir criticism from the community. The good news is that the game features full crossplay support between PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Amazon Luna.

So, as soon as it releases in mid-February, you and your pals can team up from different platforms and embark on your journey as pirates together.
