Following on from the popular RAM-7, the RAM-9 is another weapon based on the IWI Tavor. The big difference is that this compact rendition is a submachine gun chambered in 9mm better suited to close-quarters combat.
Sticking with RAM tradition, the RAM-9 is a high recoil weapon that can be difficult to use at times. However, it makes up by having a fantastic TTK and damage profile rewarding players who can keep it on target.

Best RAM-9 Warzone loadout
- Muzzle: JAK BFB
- Stock: HVS 3.4 Pad
- Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
- Magazine: 40 Round Mag
- Rear Grip: Retort 90 Grip Tape
The RAM-9 has a brutal recoil pattern that is difficult to keep on target. To fix this it’s recommended to equip the JAK BFB muzzle which provides a bigger improvement to recoil control than any other attachment in Warzone.
To further improve recoil and make the RAM-9 accurate enough to be worth using it is also recommended to equip both the Retort 90 Grip Tape rear grip and HVS 3.4 Pad stock. With all three attachments combined the RAM-9 is accurate enough to be effective even at medium range.
Stacking these recoil-reducing attachments can leave the RAM-9 feeling a little heavy. To speed it up and improve handling equip the DR-6 Handstop underbarrel. Similarly, we like the 40 Round Mag over the larger 50 Round Mag to avoid slowing down its handling too much though in Trios and Quads, the larger magazine may be preferred.
Though it isn’t easy to use, the RAM-9 is extremely rewarding for those who can land their shots.

With any SMG it’s always ideal to maximise mobility where possible to make pushing enemy teams easier. To do this both Double Time and Mountaineer are perfect as they improve Tactical Sprint and let you fall from greater heights without suffering from the various movement penalties normally given.
To further improve mobility it’s also recommended to equip Primed. This underrated Perk 3 improves both accuracy and aim down sights speed when jumping which is incredible for pushing enemies as effectively as possible.
Stacking mobility Perks is only so useful unless you know exactly where to push. To figure that out we use Birdseye which enhances UAVs making them not only show the direction enemies are looking but also reveal players using Ghost who would otherwise not appear.
For equipment, a Semtex is a classic option to pressure enemy players quickly and flush them out of cover while a Stun Grenade works well to immobilize them and swoop in for an easy down or two. These provide utility that pairs well with an aggressive playstyle best suited to an SMG like the RAM-9.
How to unlock RAM-9 in Warzone
The RAM-9 is unlocked by reaching and completing Sector B6 of the Warzone Season 2 Battle Pass. Once the season ends it will instead be available as an Armory unlock requiring the completion of daily challenges.
Best alternative to RAM-9 in Warzone
The best alternative to the RAM-9 is undoubtedly the HRM-9. Both are lower accuracy, high damage SMGs that are great for higher skill players who want to dominate up close and push other teams aggressively.
