Warzone ranked: Rewards, divisions & how it works

Warzone ranked is back with the Modern Warfare Season 2 update and will again feature divisions and rank rewards.

Players can hop into a ranked mode in Warzone, Warzone Ranked Play: Resurgence, following the release of the Warzone Season 2 update. The ruleset for the mode is similar to previous ranked seasons with 51 maximum players hopping into Fortune’s Keep.

Certain weapons will be banned again, like Riot Shields and all Launchers, and Snipers will not down players in one shot.

Skill Rating will determine a player’s placement during the season across eight divisions with everyone starting this season in Bronze 1 with 0 Skill Rating. The breakdown of divisions and how players will earn SR is below.

How Warzone Ranked Play: Resurgence works

Players will progress upward through divisions by reaching specific SR thresholds. Each division will have three tiers except for the top two, Iridescent and Top 250. The threshold for each division is listed below:

  • Bronze – Starting Division
  • Silver – 900 SR
  • Gold – 2,100 SR
  • Platinum – 3,600 SR
  • Diamond – 5,400 SR
  • Crimson – 7,500 SR
  • Iridescent – 10,000 SR
  • Top 250 – 10,000+ SR

Players earn SR by getting kills and assists. SR is also given out each time a player’s squadmate gets a kill, regardless of whether they got an assist on it or not. SR for each kill and assist increases the fewer people are alive in the match with the amount going up to over 10 when three squads are left.

Fortune’s Keep will be the map for this version of the ranked mode.

Players also earn SR based on final placement in a match with first place earning 100 and the top 12 earning 20.

SR is also earned by completing Seasonal Challenges for the first time like winning a match, or getting 100 kills or assists. Players can also lose SR via Death Fees, which are a new addition this season.

Death Fees start at Silver 1, causing players to lose SR with each in-game death. The penalty for each death will increase in SR loss with each division increase.

Players will also earn rewards based on placement during and after the season. Gold and above players will earn Operator skins that show off their rank. Every division will also feature end-of-season emblems that show off their placement during the season. Limited-time awards are also obtainable through placement challenges along with kill and assist challenges.

Lastly, players will earn rewards during the season by leveling up their Rank icon. From Rank 5-45 players will receive calling cards, stickers, emblems and weapons charms, camos, and decals. The Rank 50 rewards are “WZ Ranked Veteran” Operator Skin, Animated Emblem, and Animated Calling Card.
