The new Pokemon TCG: Mask of Change set featuring Ogerpon will launch in Japan soon, and an accompanying Special Jumbo card set will be released a few weeks later. Here’s everything we know so far.
The new Pokemon TCG: Mask of Change set will feature the new legendary “ogre” Pokemon, Ogerpon, first introduced in the Indigo Mask DLC in Scarlet and Violet. The release will follow on from the release of the Japanese Crimson Haze set, which is due to launch soon.
The new expansion will be followed by the release of a Special Ogerpon set with promotional cards and a coin. It will be released one month after the March 22nd Crimson Haze set releases in Japan.
When does the Pokemon TCG Mask of Change set release?
The Pokemon TCG: Mask of Change expansion to Scarlet and Violet will be released in Japan on April 26, 2024. The set will be accompanied by the release of an Ogerpon deck box and decorated card sleeves.

Three weeks after the launch of the Mask of Change expansion, a follow-up Special Promo set is set to be released in Japan.
The product’s launch will be accompanied by the release of a deck box and card sleeves featuring Tera Ogerpon wearing the Teal Mask.
As the new Pokemon TCG expansion to Scarlet & Violet is based on Pokemon from the Teal Mask, we might see other creatures from the DLC. The main Pokemon featured were the Loyal Three, Munkidori, Okidogi, and Fezandipiti, as well as Pecharunt.
Pokemon TCG: Mask of Change Special Jumbo card set contents
A special Ogerpon Special Jumbo set will follow the release of Mask of Change shortly after, on May 17.
The set will include Ogerpon, ex, as well as an Ogre Mask card. The mask-changing card is predicted to change the Ogerpons form into their Wellspring, Hearthflame, or Cornerstone Mask forms.
Each form has a corresponding typing. It’s not yet known how the mask change mechanic will work.
The Special Jumbo set will reportedly include:
- Eight Pokemon TCG booster packs
- An Ogerpon promotional card
- A Jumbo Ogerpon promotional card
- An Ogre Mask promotional card
- A display stand
- A Pokemon coin, presumably featuring the ogre
In the meantime, Pokemon TCG collectors can look forward to the Wild Force and Cyber Judge sets that will land in Japan on January 26.
The Western equivalent of Wild Force and Cyber Judge will be called Temporal Forces. That’s due to launch in the UK on March 22nd, with pre-releases taking place between March 9 and 17.
