Best HRM-9 MW3 loadout: Class setup, attachments, perks

Alongside the TAQ Evolvere, the HRM-9 was introduced in the Season 1 Reloaded update. The new submachine gun is based on the real-world Beretta PMX and much like its Italian inspiration, it is a weapon with a modern design that is chambered in 9mm.

Despite being a relatively low-caliber gun the HRM-9 holds its own at medium range and can even compete with some assault rifles. This makes it surprisingly versatile and a strong choice for those looking to rack up tons of kills in their lobbies.

Best HRM-9 MW3 loadout

  • Muzzle: JAK BFB
  • Barrel: Princeps Long Barrel
  • Laser: 1mW Quick Fire Laser
  • Stock: Folding Stock
  • Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop

The HRM-9 has a sporadic recoil pattern that makes it difficult to keep on target. To amend this we use the incredible JAK BFB muzzle which provides an incredible boost to recoil control although this comes at the cost of revealing your direction on the enemy radar when shooting.

Another great attachment for improving recoil is the Folding Stock while the Princeps Long Barrel provides a sizable boost to damage range. These make the HRM-9 even more versatile and easily able to compete at medium range even against assault rifles.

The round off the build you’ll want to equip attachments that improve ADS speed like the DR-6 Handstop underbarrel and 1mW Quick Fire Laser. Since the HRM-9 is an SMG it’s important to keep its handling feeling snappy at all times and this combination does just that.

The HRM-9 makes up for its high recoil with raw damage and excellent mobility.

HRM-9 MW3 Loadout: Perks and Equipment

  • Vest: Overkill Vest
  • Gloves: Assault Gloves
  • Boots: Lightweight Boots
  • Gear: Bone Conduction Headset
  • Lethal: Frag Grenade
  • Tactical: Flash Grenade

The Overkill Vest is a great choice as it lets you take a second primary weapon that covers the HRM-9’s weaknesses. We recommend either a Sniper, marksman rifle, or assault rifle which can be used to challenge long sightlines where the HRM-9 isn’t as competitive.

To maximise mobility and make the most of the HRM-9 it’s recommended to equip both Assault Gloves and Lightweight Boots. When combined these both increase your movement speed and enhance jump shots, perfect for playing aggressively and pushing enemies more effectively.

With no Covert Sneakers, Ghost T/V Camo, or a suppressor other players are going to know where you are and inevitably push you. Therefore it’s best to use the Bone Conduction Headset gear to increase awareness and reduce the likelihood of an enemy catching you off guard.

A Frag Grenade is always a strong choice in the lethal slot as it can be cooked to detonate at the perfect moment leaving opponents with no chance of escape. Equally, a Flash Grenade is another Call of Duty classic that blinds enemies making them easy to outgun.

Best alternative to HRM-9 in Modern Warfare 3

The Striker is a direct competitor to the HRM-9 with both being fast-firing SMGs that are fantastic up close yet can still hold their own at medium range. The HRM-9 has more recoil but a better TTK whilst the Striker is easier to use but less rewarding of good aim.
