As regular GTA Online players will know, Rockstar provides a new update each week, adding or switching around content. This usually includes login bonuses, boosted rewards for specific missions, featured races, and a whole lot more.
The past 12 months have been a big one for Rockstar Games and Grand Theft Auto with tons of drama and news involving GTA 6. The long-awaited sequel was revealed last year, but the game has been exposed, presumably, well ahead of time with a huge leak. Rockstar has since confirmed the leaked footage to be genuine, and the hacker has been arrested.
We’re still waiting for more info on that front and the GTA Online follow-up, but until that time, let’s see what’s been added in the most recent GTA 5 update on January 4, 2024. These are the full patch notes.

GTA Online weekly update patch notes (January 4)
New GTA Online content added
As ever, Rockstar went all out for the Holiday celebrations in GTA Online, bringing in Snowball Deathmatches, the Yeti Hunt, Salvage Yard robberies, and a new vehicle in the form of the Bravado Dorado.
That’s all passed now, but to ring in the new year, they’ve added another new car – the Declasse Park Ranger. Yes, it’s an SUV with the Park Ranger livery on it, and yes, it’s available on Warstock.
In addition to that, there is also the Wildlife Photography Challenge, which can help you bring the price of the new car down. Here’s what it’s all about:
Receive cash and RP for each animal photographed during the Wildlife Photography Challenge (PS5 & Xbox Series X|S only).
- Unlock the Declasse Park Ranger by taking a picture of a single animal during the Wildlife Photography Challenge (PS5 & Xbox Series X|S only).
- Unlock the trade price for the Declasse Park Ranger by taking 10 pictures of animals during the Wildlife Photography Challenge (PS5 & Xbox Series X|S only).
- With the Wildlife Photography Challenge players will also unlock the “Zoophilist Outfit” , inspired by Ace Ventura’s attire (PS5 & Xbox Series X|S only).
Prize Ride Challenge Vehicle
This week’s GTA Online Prize Ride car to acquire is the Declasse Tulip. You’ll need to place in the top three of LS Car Meet Series races for three consecutive days to unlock it.
Lucky Wheel podium reward vehicle: Hotring Sabre
The Hotring Sabre is up for grabs in GTA Online!
You can pick up the Vapid Clique with the Merry Cliquemas livery this week, featured on the Diamond Casino Lucky Wheel reward, so could get it for free if your luck is in – or you know how to win every time.
Which GTA Online missions have the highest payout?
As of January 4, 2024, the GTA Online mission with the highest payout is still the Cayo Perico Heist. Though, it’s not as lucrative as it once was – much to the annoyance of players.
2x GTA$ and RP opportunities
Sadly, there are only 2x GTA$ and RP opportunities this week. There are no 3x opportunities, and that incredibly lucrative 5x Taxi Work is long gone. Hopefully, that changes again soon.
