X Ambassadors, hailing from Ithaca, New York, began their journey in 2009 under the name Ambassadors. Initially, they focused on self-releasing EPs while cultivating a dedicated fanbase. The band’s rise accelerated when they signed with Interscope Records, largely due to the influence of Dan Reynolds, the lead singer of Imagine Dragons, who championed their work. This breakthrough allowed them to produce their debut album, VHS, which was released in 2015.
VHS featured standout singles like “Renegades,””Unsteady,”and “Low Life,”marking a significant breakthrough for the band. The success of this album opened doors for them to release additional records, including their latest, Townie, set to release in 2024. The ten-year anniversary of VHS is prompting the band to embark on a special tour and produce a “reimagined”version of the album, reflecting on their journey and the impact of their debut.
