“He Just Wanted Extra Cuddles”— Below Deck Down Under’s Marina Reveals Thoughts on Wihan’s Response to Alesia Climbing into His Bunk

Intriguing Moments from Below Deck Down Under Season 3

In the latest episode of Below Deck Down Under, stew Marina Marcondes de Barros shared her thoughts on a surprising incident involving sous chef Alesia Harris and bosun Wihan Du Toit from Season 3, Episode 10. This episode featured a memorable moment when Alesia mistakenly climbed into Wihan’s bed, believing it was her romantic partner Johnny Arvanitis’s bunk.

Wihan’s Reaction: An Unexpected Twist

During the April 2 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, host Andy Cohen brought up Alesia’s blunder. He sought insights from Marina and fellow guest Brianna Duffield regarding what Wihan might have been thinking at that moment. While joking about the appropriateness of her thoughts on air, Marina expressed that Wihan’s reaction indicated a desire for “extra cuddle”and possibly to check off another name on his romantic list.

“I don’t think I can say that on TV. I think honestly, he just wanted extra cuddle. Yeah, another girl on his checklist, you know?”the Below Deck Down Under stew remarked.

Alesia’s Mistaken Identity Incident

In the context of this episode, the night’s mix of camaraderie and cocktails led Alesia and Johnny to experience some intimate moments, culminating in her entering the wrong bunk. After a night of celebrations, Alesia, who appeared to be inebriated, mistakenly snuggled up to Wihan instead of Johnny, who shared the room with him and Harry.

Upon Johnny’s entrance into the room, he was taken aback to find Alesia in bed with another man, leading to a tense moment where Alesia realized her mistake. In her flustered state, she exclaimed:

“Oh my God, I thought that was you,”Alesia exclaimed to Johnny.

Though Johnny initially responded with a smile, assuring Alesia it was okay, his frustration culminated in a more explosive reaction later, exemplified by him punching through a wall.

Consequences and Captain Jason’s Decision

This incident was only one part of a series of conflicts involving Wihan and Johnny throughout the season, which ultimately led Captain Jason Camber to take decisive action. By Episode 11, both crew members were let go due to their behavior, showcasing the serious repercussions of such incidents on board.

When participating in the discussion on Watch What Happens Live, Marina and Brianna supported Captain Jason’s choice, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful environment on the yacht.

“Absolutely [it was the right decision]. As much as I love Johnny, I just think when you get to a point where it is making you aggressive, it’s probably not the best place for you,”Brianna articulated her stance.

Brianna’s Disappointment in Wihan’s Story

Delving deeper into the situation, Brianna expressed her disappointment in Wihan, revealing he had shared a dramatically different recount of events with her. This discrepancy between what she had been told and the episode’s portrayal piqued her interest.

“I was told a completely different story from Wihan, so I was very disappointed to watch it back. Wihan said he was asleep the whole time. He absolutely wasn’t. He did wake up and I saw him put his arm around Alesia. That’s when I said ‘that is the absolute opposite of what I’ve heard,'”she concluded.
