Piper Rockelle Update: Teen Influencer from Netflix’s Bad Influence Discusses Upcoming Details on Kidfluencing

Piper Rockelle has recently expressed her intention to share her perspective following the debut of the Netflix documentary, Bad Influence. This film presents allegations from some of her former friends, who claim that her mother, Tiffany Smith, along with Smith’s boyfriend, Hunter Hill, fostered a toxic atmosphere.

The documentary, titled Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing, centers around a complaint filed in 2022 by 11 teenagers against Tiffany Smith and Hunter Hill. The accusations include claims of a damaging environment, with the documentary showcasing testimonials from these teenagers and their parents, shedding light on their experiences.

While Rockelle, Smith, and Hill did not respond to the documentary’s content, it appears that Piper Rockelle is preparing to narrate her own story.

Piper Rockelle’s Mysterious Social Media Posts

On Instagram, Piper Rockelle recently shared a video accompanied by an intriguing statement:

“Can’t wait to tell my own story and not have other people tell it for me.”

In the same video, she lip-synced to Alina’s song “i know, i know, i know,”featuring lyrics that resonate with feelings of betrayal and disillusionment:

“Draw another line, say a quick goodbye… Never care to take the time, baby… Look at me like that… Are you feeling bad?… Know you think I’m all attached, but I’m… Not an idiot, never thought you’d pick me… Don’t got much here to offer.”

Additionally, Rockelle captioned her video with another powerful statement:

“What makes them think they can speak for me and why would you believe it if it’s not coming from my mouth?”

Just prior to the release of Bad Influence on April 9, 2025, Rockelle had been active on social media, posting enigmatic videos. For example, on April 6, she shared a clip lip-syncing to Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,”which included the striking phrase:

“I don’t wanna be friends.”

Moreover, she collaborated with an AI companion named Tolan to discuss the documentary, emphasizing how rumors have adversely affected her life. She admitted:

“This rumor unfortunately has kind of hurt my lifestyle in a lot of ways, but I’ve just kept going as much as I possibly can.”

In addition, Rockelle shared a video of herself enjoying Sydney Rose’s song “We Hug Now,”commenting on its significance:

“[Of course] this song is [about] a big friend group breaking up.”

This comment may suggest a fallout with the friends featured in the documentary.

An Overview of Netflix’s Bad Influence

According to PEOPLE, the lawsuit involving Tiffany Smith and Hunter Hill stemmed from the claims of 11 teens in 2022, accusing them of various forms of abuse, including emotional, verbal, physical, and at times, sexual abuse. These teens were part of Piper Rockelle’s former friend group known as the “Squad.”

The lawsuit was resolved in October 2024, with the teens awarded a settlement of $1.85 million. The Netflix docuseries covers this lawsuit and features interviews with the implicated teens and their families, detailing their troubling experiences.

While Rockelle, Smith, and Hill refrained from commenting on the documentary, Smith did share her sentiments with PEOPLE on April 8:

“This whole experience — from the claims and power plays from the stage moms to, now, the Netflix reality show — has been the most upsetting and difficult experience of my life. And it’s been even harder for my daughter, Piper, who’s become collateral damage in a mess of adults behaving badly.”

Bad Influence continues to be available for streaming on Netflix. Additional information regarding the lawsuit can be found here.
