Although players are currently experiencing issues with inconsistent visuals and odd perk combinations, the developers have provided updates on how they will address this situation.
Initially, Bungie indicated that players could keep the bugged versions of these weapons until the event’s commencement. However, they have since realized that retaining these problematic items poses significant challenges for their backend systems. As a result, the developers will compensate all players with 1500 in-game currency once the Rite of the Nine event goes live. This sum is equivalent to the rewards from completing two Dungeon runs.
Free Currency for All Destiny 2 Players During Rite of the Nine
In a recent statement, Bungie elaborated on the unexpected circumstances surrounding the Rite of the Nine:
A few short weeks ago, many of you stumbled upon something we’d never seen before within Destiny 2. A few activities tied to Rite of the Nine went live early! In some ways, this was a fun moment for the community.
They further clarified the issues related to the weapons:
While we were able to patch out the activities quickly, the weapons remained. We had intentions of updating these weapons at release but hit a few snags along the way. While we’d initially noted rewards earned would be retained, they will need to be removed.
With the official launch of the Rite of the Nine, every participant will be granted 1500 currency designated for the event. This amount is intended to facilitate the acquisition of desired weapons from the event vendor, known as the Emissary of the Nine.
Players have the flexibility to either claim all available weapons on the very first day or select their favorites at a subsequent time, ensuring a personalized gaming experience.
