Riot Games has officially announced the upcoming launch of Valorant Mobile exclusively in China. This initiative is a collaboration with LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS, a division of Tencent Games, signaling a strategic move to establish a foothold in the East Asian mobile gaming market.
The Path Forward for Valorant Mobile in China
Having been in development for several years, Valorant Mobile has already undergone beta testing in China, yielding positive feedback from players. Recent leaks have showcased the anticipated 5v5 gameplay, alongside features such as gyroscope controls, indicating a commitment to high-quality mobile engagement.
The official declaration of Valorant Mobile’s readiness for release came on April 21, 2025. Prior to this announcement, the popular X account @ValorantMobileX hinted that the game would launch in China before the third quarter of the year, targetting a timeframe around June 2025.
However, should the release not materialize as planned, Riot Games may face additional hurdles, as they would need to reapply for regulatory approval. This situation suggests a possible internal timeline for testing and launching the game by May 2025, though a specific release date has yet to be confirmed.
Players in China can anticipate an engaging experience with functional gameplay, a variety of character skins, and multiple game modes, including Deathmatch and Swiftplay, at launch.
While China is set to be the initial market for Valorant Mobile, Riot Games has plans to expand its release to additional countries in the future, highlighting a broader vision for the game’s global reach.
