TXT’s Soobin and Yeonjun Set for Exciting Cameo in Resident Playbook
Members of the K-pop sensation TXT, Soobin and Yeonjun, are making headlines with their anticipated cameo in the ongoing medical drama Resident Playbook aired on tvN. According to reports from Xports on April 21, 2025, both members are expected to portray vibrant characters, delivering a refreshing twist to the series.
Previously, Yeonjun displayed his acting skills in the drama Live On, featuring alongside Hwang Min-hyun. However, Soobin will be making his K-drama acting debut with this appearance. While there has been no official confirmation from either BIGHIT MUSIC or tvN regarding their participation, fans have taken to social media to express their excitement at the prospect of seeing their beloved idols in acting roles.

Characters and Plot of Resident Playbook
The Resident Playbook follows the challenges faced by rookie medical professionals as they navigate their roles within the OB-GYN department of Jongno Yulje Medical Center. With daily struggles to become esteemed surgeons, the drama highlights the camaraderie and growth experienced by the characters.
In the series, Kang You-seok portrays Um Jae-il, a 28-year-old idol transformed into a medical resident. Previously known by his stage name Um Jay, Um Jae-il’s past as part of the group HI-BOYZ is humorously juxtaposed with his current life, where he is unrecognized within the hospital. Soobin and Yeonjun are set to play Um Jae-il’s ex-idol groupmates, a twist that has piqued fans’ interest.
Supporting characters include Go Youn-jung as Oh Yi-young, Shin Si-ah as Pyo Nam-kyung, and Han Ye-ji as Kim Sa-bi, showcasing a diverse group of residents united by their experiences in medicine.
