The 4K screenings of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train will cater to diverse audiences by offering both an English dubbed version and the original Japanese audio accompanied by English subtitles. To heighten excitement around this release, a brand-new trailer has also been unveiled, specifically created for this 4K re-release of the film.

The revival of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train in North American theaters signifies a build-up to the highly awaited Infinity Castle Arc film trilogy. Although the initial announcement did not stipulate international rescreenings, this update hints at broader availability. It’s likely that the re-release of Mugen Train will be the first of several upcoming screenings as excitement grows in anticipation of the new trilogy.

Moreover, it was revealed that the franchise’s earlier films, including compilation features, will be brought back to Japanese theaters between April 4 and July 3, 2025. Each compilation film is set to run for one week in 33 different theatres throughout Japan. The 4K version of the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train film will screen in Japan from May 9 to June 12, 2025, across an impressive 423 theaters, complete with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the upcoming trilogy.

While there have been no official confirmations regarding additional franchise films returning to North American theaters, the expectations remain high. The recently confirmed North American release date for the new film trilogy on September 12, 2025, adds further credence to this assumption. In Japan, the new film will premiere on July 18, 2025, making history with a record 443 screens participating in the release.

This anime series draws inspiration from Koyoharu Gotouge’s original manga, which first appeared in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2016 and was serialized until May 2020. The complete manga, comprising 205 chapters, has been compiled into 23 volumes and is widely available in English translations.
